They might as well put our games on the comedy channel our program is becoming an absolute joke. It all started with the Stoops stupid extension in 2022 , then the whole A&M debacle in 2023 , then Friday the story come out that after the UT game in 2024 Stoops went to MB begging for buyout ( I know I know Stoops has denied it but come on too much smoke to that fire), and now we have he's going to fire his OC but wait a minute that's not going to happen either.... The Circus is in Lexington is all I can say about this!

I can't imagine Hamdan being fired mid-season. But, if true it just points to Stoops getting another chance to hire someone else. Kind of foreshadowing he won't be let go. I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt but I can't anymore. He needs gone, and yesterday. Mitch too. Actually Mitch needs gone 2 days ago and Stoops yesterday.

Surely Gran or whomever Stoops installs as OC will stop the insanity of throwing bombs. We moved very efficiently the drive before the half to get into mid range FG territory. How? By throwing quick, short passes. Did we come out in the 2nd half and make Georgia stop that? Nope. What other competent OC would find somethi g that was working and abandon it after one series? Oh, yeah, I used the word 'competent'.

To the other poster who said he believed Hamdan is intelligent but a poor communicator, I offer this piece of evidence along with many other instances where you just have to wonder what the heck he's thinking.

Even though they backed off the story, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if they did let him go early this week. But again, I don't think that's going to fix anything.

We have already fired Gran once, how many times are we going to play this game. You can't get a little bit pregnant. Bite the blasted bullet Mitch and fire the right guy!!!

It doesn't matter who the OC is. Lets look at a few success stories. Shannon Dawson - not bad at Miami. Liam Coen? Just one of the hottest up and coming coaches in the NFL.

              What is the common denominator?

I don't get people calling for Gran to be named interim OC if Bush is let go. He was fired from the OC job once, why give him the keys again. I would rather see either the RB coach have a chance. He knows the personnel better than Gran and can maybe game plan better

In all honesty we all had dreams of high scoring offenses and air raid sirens on our heads. Our hindsight is a lot better. 4 years of Eddie Gran equally 4 bowl wins.
I kinda doubt he would take the job if offered after all the grief he took WHILE WINNING.

What do you see in his bio that leads you to believe he would be better than Gran?

Unless he or Gran is willing to tell Mark to stick it in his ear it doesn't matter which is picked.

I just said he was the obvious choice in an interim role. That's because he's already there and in the system. I didn't mean for after this year.

If true Hamdan will land somewhere else and be very successful . OC'S under the Stoops have always been a dismal failure . "Drive another nail in the coffin" the "the bend don't break" guy needs to hit the door too . Complete overhaul needed from AD down

Gran has achieved a weird kind of status in the fanbase where he’s somehow almost simultaneously underrated and overrated.

He’s probably a pretty good coach. He had a good career before Kentucky, showed a knack at times for successfully using plays to set up something else, and even if the final results may have been partially aided by a favorable part of the schedule, pulled off an amazing feat of adaptability by installing an entirely new offense mid season to keep us competitive in 2019. That Stoops continues struggling to field competent offenses with a revolving door of coordinators tells me that he’s likely the problem and not Gran on that front.

However , the counternarrative that’s developed that he actually had devised a consistent winning formula and got unfairly chased off for not being flashy enough doesn’t really match reality either. Yes, we had some good seasons and even a great one by our standards during his tenure, but it was often in spite of the offense and not because of it. The moment we no longer had a historically good defense, you saw the big step back in the win/loss record in 2020.
