Hamdan to be let go this week?

I saw a post or two online saying that. Typically, I am pretty skeptical of most anything online, but this seemed slightly more credible. That being said, it wasn't anything more than a rumor.

If it turns out to be true, the immediate replacement would have to be Gran, right?

And for the record, I think all of our problems start with Stoops, so I don't expect a new OC is going to change much.

    I saw those as well.

I gave it some credibility due to the timing. If we are going to make a change prior to the end of the season, it should be early this week (IE Monday) due to the bye week. Other than Gran the only other possibility I can think of is Neil Brown. Neil is currently on of those non coach assistants at UTx. It's doubtful he would be interested.

I also agree with your assessment of our problem.

I do think Gran or someone equivalent could be a huge improvement re: calling plays and that might make the offense noticeably better. Might being the key word.

Hamdan is probably a really smart dude, but, like Scangarello, I don't think he's a great communicator. Even at this point in his career, I think Gran, who was known throwing the ball all over the park at UC, could take elements of Hamdan's offense and get more out of Cutter. I certainly think he has Stoops' trust.

If so, I do not think it helps much this year. Maybe we get our wildcat offense going with Kendrick Law. Who knows. If he can manufacturer a W or two that BH cannot bring it on. Still Farrrr Stoops.

UK doesn't have the talent, simple fact. I don't care who's coaching the rest of the season. Having said this, the current staff needs to be replaced with a new direction.

You're not fixing a spoiled chicken by changing the sauce. The chef needs to go.

Assuming Eddie is named the interim OC, I'm curious what changes he will make. And will Mark get out of him way this time. If i were Gran, I'd be reluctant to take the assignment without such a guarantee. He, however, seems the ultimate team player. Kinda doubt he would insist on such a condition.

I’m pretty sure whoever the new OC is will stop chucking the ball downfield so often. We throw it deep among the most in CFB, and complete the throw among the least often. We were 0/10 on throws of 20+ yards v Georgia.

Unless that freshman who came in late v Georgia really pops as a downfield target, we need to be more methodical and pick our spots better.

The problem is likely they don’t have confidence the offense is good enough to sustain drives and so try for the home run. But that ain’t workin either!

What joke, another OC. This is like a total failure blaming everyone for their failures. Barnyard is a total disaster if he does this. Stoops is the issue, he’s no longer effective. I won’t even say what I know about what’s really happening. Coaches out there know and I happen to have someone close to them.

Update: For now, it looks like Bush Hamdan’s job is safe, as ESPN Radio Lexington has retracted their report, while KSR’s Matt Jones and Nick Roush say Hamdan is not being fired this week.
