Kentucky to charge per square foot for tailgating in 2026

According to sources close to the program, there will be new fees associated with Game Day at Commonwealth Stadium @Kroger Field.

Kentucky Athletics will charge a "per square feet" lot fee for tailgating areas controlled by the University of Kentucky.

Be prepared to "pony up".

If they charge for people to tailgate (rent space), then I would never follow again. Would probably become a UGA football fan and then follow UK basketball and other sports. If Mitch does not do something about this mess with Stoops he can leave the state now.

You want to have only the SEC visitors show up to a game, start charging extra to witness the worst football team in America. Yup that will do it. UK football is the medicine any team needs to feel good about itself.

My closing comment on that survey was “Until you put a better product on the field, all these new upgrades and amenities will be all for naught.

We were warned before last season that it was heading in that direction. One of the Parking Nazi Supervisors told us UK was moving in that direction.

If they want to make any additional charges for anything, the first thing they better do is go out and find us a competent football coach. If Mark Stoops is still here next season, there won't be anyone there to tailgate.

The nly positive I can think is some folks secure tailgate spots and only attend 1 or 2 games.
