No surprise - dead last. By itself, that should be a firable offense. I mean, 13 years into Stoops tenure and we have the WORST QB in major college football. If I were a betting man, I'd guess over the past 13 years, we'd certainly be in the lowest quintile for several of those years (Levis, maybe Leary, Johnson would have escaped the lowest 10%). Embarrassing is not the word I would use to describe this. Unacceptable. Inexcusable. More along those lines.
There are probably many factors that account for consistently, measurably bad QB play. Scheme, talent, coaching, philosophy, competition, whatever - one more glaring data point that Stoops hasn't and probably won't figure out what to do on offense.
Whoever we end up hiring as our next coach, I hope and pray he has both an offensive and defensive philosophy/scheme that he's NOT going to change every other year. Something we can recruit to, create and maintain a certain identity and, hopefully, win a few more games with it. You can't go from Air Raid, to RPO, to NFL and back to whatever the hell we're doing now and expect to have success. It really smacks of desperation that we haven't decided THIS is what we're going to run and recruit to and live or die with.
