So we could have a year of some serious SEC competition. Those 3 plus 6 like, Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Texas, Texas AM and Mizzou.

We know life will be hard from here on out and it will.

I think the SEC did a good job of picking permanent 3, actually. All in-state rivals and almost all of the other long time rivals were made permanent. We did OK. I mean, other than Vanderbilt, there isn't an SEC school that we have consistently beaten, so FL, SC and TN makes sense.

Adding an additional conference game means we better get better in a hurry. No more 3+ guaranteed wins every year. With UofL our likely OOC P4 opponent, realistically only 2 scheduled wins per year. It's going to be hard to win half or more of our games, imo, on a yearly basis.

As I get older, my ability to get excited about another losing FB season is decreasing every year. Nine league games may accelerate that decline, unfortunately. A string of 4-8 seasons with no end in sight may turn me into a college FB fan with little to no emotional attachment to any one team. Or an NFL fan.

It really doesn't matter. Those three are as good as any. Miss State being listed as our rival never made a lot of sense.
