Dane Key has been very productive for Nebraska. Barion Brown has been more productive for LSU but is not their #1 (or even #2) WR as near as I can tell from watching a couple of their games. He does play quite a few snaps but isn't a focal point (yet). Dylan Ray is starting OT at UVA.
Other than that, the vast majority of our transfers are not really excelling at their new schools, especially those that went to P4 programs. Some, according to the linked article, are hardly playing when I believe most would have seen a lot more snaps/action staying at UK.
I wonder, on the whole, how all transfers perform at their new school and if, subjectively, they end up being worth the money. For some, it probably wasn't all a money issue, but, if a player didn't believe he'd receive a significant number of snaps at UK, why would they believe that USCjr, USC, Wisconsin, et al would have more opportunity for playing time? Courtland Ford went to UCLA and was benched in the 2nd game with an absolutely pitiful pass protection grade. Why did he think he'd go to UCLA and be a solid building block for that struggling program if he couldn't get much PT last year when our OL was a huge disappointment?
Certainly, the majority of transfers TO our team haven't exactly set the world on fire. A few have been instrumental in the success we've experienced, but many have ended up being depth pieces and not really moving the needle for UK.
