I have always thought there was an “agreement” between UK and Keeneland that games would be at night in October. Someone told me TV rules the roost. Which is it.

TV makes the final call. But I think UK, through the league office, tries to persuade TV to make those night games at home. I think the visiting team fans want to go to Keeneland too. Kind of like LSU wants their home games at night. -

I don't think so. As of this morning (Sept 17) neither of the home games in October have times that have been announced.
Going back to the original question - I think there was a time that TV didn't have as much influence on the game times as they do now. But that was 15-20 years ago and further back. I don't believe there's any agreement with Keeneland right now that would have any influence on ESPN choosing the game time.Comment

It's not unusual at all for UK road games to conflict with Keeneland race cards. The track has at times shown the game video on the tote board big screen.Comment
