Deion and the Buffs having their butts handed to them

Obviously still early in the season (and tonight's game is not over), but Houston is running all over Deion's Buffs (33-14 with 11:00 to go). Maybe, just maybe, all the hype about CU was overblown and pretty much totally dependent on a very good college QB (Shadeur) and an-All-Everything (Hunter) jack of all trades. Sure, makes an offense do a bit better when you have a pretty darn good QB throwing to a receiver who literally can't be covered.

I've thought Deion was a lot of hype and not much substance for quite a while. At his heart, he may be a pretty good guy but the constant self-promotion and his willingness, when things go wrong, to throw players under the bus doesn't/didn't sit right with me.

I've never understood coaches throwing a player under the bus. As their coach at this level it's your job to help develop both on the field and in life. So, they're actions are a direct reflection of your leadership.

Deon looks bad. His illness seems to be taking toll wouldn't be surprised if this was his last year.

Yeah, he seems to be in bad shape physically. I would think he's taken pretty good care of himself so it's a bit surprising. Maybe genetics? I think between his health and this year's team probably not living up to expectations, his goal of coaching in the NFL is quickly slipping away.

He had bladder cancer and had to have his bladder removed. Claims to be cancer free now, but it took a toll on him. Now that his sons and the Heisman winner are gone, his shine is going to wear off real quick.
