    Interesting comments

I’ve read some comments here about why do you come here if your dissatisfied, upset and not happy.

    My first game was 1977
We had season tickets for 7 years once
Barnhart was the one preaching about taking football to another level. Barnhart is the one adding a blue/white fee to tickets. Barnhart is the one that gave Stoops one of the highest salaries in the SEC

If one can’t make a comment about not being satisfied, I rekon your a participation trophy type fan.

    So, which is it?

There's a difference in not being satisfied and never being satisfied. Barnhart and Stoops could cure cancer and there are people here who would complain about the side effects.

You should also be allowed to disagree with people on here or question things they say when they contradict their own words. Some people think they're always right and if anyone even thinks of an opposing view, childish attacks fly. Since the other board dissolved and we got all of these new members, this board has gone down hill. I've been a member since 2005 and some of the nonsense on here has never been around, but now there's more members to ask for money and that's all that matters.

No one is satisfied with losing. No one.
there's nothing wrong with recognizing Stoops has done some really good things at Kentucky. Right now things don't seem to be exactly right.
a continuation of the keystone Kops routine on offense should cost the OC his job. It's just inexcusable.

Yes, there are posters not happy with anything but playoffs. Just like there are basketball posters bragging that it's final four or nothing.

We had those posters when there were just a few of us. Now there's just more people.

Takes all kinds to make a world spin.

Just don't act like jerks when you're spinning it.

I've definitely appreciated that there's a lot less nonsense on this board than on that other one.

NIL is changing the landscape of college sports and predominantly college football. The perennial powers that once were aren't going to remain atop the heap. Alabama boosters are getting impatient with DeBoer, but he has a 70 million dollar buyout. I doubt he goes away anytime soon. Further, Alabama doesn't have a deep NIL budget because they only have a few deep pocketed boosters, but not much else within the state.

Take a look at the top 10 states with the most millionaires and billionaires, and Alabama, Kentucky and much of the south ain't it, except for Georgia, Florida and Texas.

Out west, California, Oregon and Washington have a lot of wealthy folks and businesses that would fund NILs in their state.

Kentucky has the bourbon industry, but it may be a bit gun shy about ponying up NIL money for kids not old enough to drink. That's a bad image to put forward. Kentucky is going to struggle, as is Alabama (Alabama will take a bit longer for them to slide into mediocrity) even more against the likes of Texas A&M, Texas and Georgia.

All of the bottom feeders in the SEC are going to have to get creative with NIL money in order to simply tread water in some instances.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Whether others agree or not. But discussion and healthy debate is the expectation. I know the influx of new people and their opinions has upset the balance some from those few who posted here through those leaner years. I get it. But I don’t want to think this site was kept afloat all that time just for a select few people. I hope it was kept afloat for a time like this when we could finally have a reason to resurrect the place and hopefully get it back to where it was when Mel had his vision for what a place like this could be.

My first game was in 1976. I was seven. My parents had season tickets for 30 years. I went to a game or two a year with my dad up until I went to UK for college. Then I didn’t miss a game. When I graduated in ‘93, I bought my own season tickets and have had them ever since. I’ve sat through Bill Curry, the probation years and the Joker Phillips years and I haven’t ever given up hope on the program or what they can accomplish. I will never be a playoff or else fan either though. I can hope for coaching changes, I can question coaching decisions (like idiotically going for it on 4th and 9 with eight minutes left in easy FG range down only seven points. KICK THE DANG FG, TAKE THE DAMN POINTS!)

Really hoping the thing UK is doing and with the new marketing agreement and LLC deal will be an innovative approach to the whole NIL mess and help us compare a higher level.

Don't misunderstand something I posted: there is no reason not to call out coaches for poor performance considering their pay.
it is also far that a bit of leeway be considered as far as the players since they are now legitimately pros themselves.

My comment pertained to the way we communicate with each other.
Theres no reason for adults to get into insulting each other on a sports board.

Exactly, Bill. If people can't communicate in a decent and civilized manner perhaps they need to step back until they can.

I think NIL will make it more and more difficult to follow a football program. Before, we would have 25 newcomers with the freshman class and would MAYBE get a transfer or two. Those 25 names would often take two and three years to see the field, and we would frequently get reports on their progress. This year, we have 55 new players. That's difficult on the average fan, and it's not like a basketball team with only 7-8 new faces every year.

But, that's the era we are in. These players are making more money in college than most of us ever will, and that will open the door for more criticism than before. I personally think it's time for Stoops to move on, but that doesn't mean I'm hoping for him to fail this year. Bringing in a new coach would bring excitement, interest, and likely more money. The fan base is over Stoops, the rotating offensive coordinators, the lack of development at the QB position, and the undisciplined disorganization. Be upset with that and comment on that all you want. It's simply a bit unfair and unrealistic to throw negativity towards potential replacements and changes.

I like some on here have been following UK football, mens basketball since the late 60s when I can first recall watching games with my dad, going to memorial and watching practice beside my dad and such. Football was always much like a 4 year college degree (or attempt at a degree). Many time in a 4 year block of time we had our freshman year, might win 2 games (maybe less) and get blown out by many. Then as a sophomore we played better but still not much in results (same or about same record). Then we would get our junior year where we would win about 5 or so games and finally our senior year where we would possibly get to a bowl game. We would be 6-6 or 8 wins. Rarely would we do better than than.

Stoops we had the same progression but we had 2 years of Freshman, 2 as sophomore and then about 5 years of (Junior/senior ball). Now back down to freshman / sophomore types of years.

Biggest problem is that in those 5 years several SEC teams were on the down side of things, florida, south carolina and tennessee to name a few. UK did some good and some bad in those down years. But one thing stayed the same. Bad passing offense. People are extremely tired of watching 1940s offense and good defense football.

Is there a legit fix. At this point I do not see it. You will never have a conference of 16 alpha dogs in football. You will never have a conference of 16 alpha dogs in men's basketball.

We are what we have always been. Stoops just put a bow on the recruiting process and took us one step up but not tons up. Take away the joker years and we would get a few players and a bunch of decent players each year. Now we get more of the good players but most come as they could not get PT on their existing teams.

This is our place assigned by the football gods (little g).
I think it is time to just realize that and be happy if we get 2 good and 2 very bad years. Problem is we are looking at year 3 of bad I do believe 3 in a row.
