The defense is not dominating, but can be effective.

Coaching is bad for Hamdan and for a guy 13 years in Stoops seems to have reverted.

I was proud the guys hung with a top 20 team. I was disappointed they were not put in a spot to win

I'm in the minority but I don't think Boley is much of an upgrade. He held the ball way too long on the 4th down sack, had a receiver open across the middle.

The bigger problem is the staff, especially the offensive staff. OL is improved. RBs are pretty decent although not homerun hitters. Wideouts are MAC level, just not up to SEC standards, imo. TEs are decent but middle of the pack for SEC. OC/QB coaching is abysmal.

We take too long to get lined up. We break the huddle with 25 secs or more and jog into formation. Once set, we hesitate and then bring motion across the field. By the time we snap the ball, the clock is way below 10 secs on most plays. Ole Miss was snapping the ball before the 20 sec mark.

We had how many issues today with organization, getting a play off, burned time off the clock unnecessarily, burned our 3 timeouts in the first half to prevent a delay penalty, etc.

Neither Calzada nor Boley throw to a spot. They are constantly late with the ball. Calzada has bad footwork. Boley has technique issues, also. Neither seem like they're good at going through progressions, finding the best receiver to throw to, feeling the pass rush, etc. They just don't look like they're well coached.

Defensively, we're decent but we will not be throwing any shutouts. We'll probably keep a lot of teams to 30 or so, but thats almost assuredly too many points for our offense to generate.

I see no path to 6 wins this year.

I agree. This year we are outgunned by Louisville. That means we have to find 3 conference wins and 3 ooc. Who?
top line execution may get a W over Vandy, but this team as is would need to be vastly overlooked then over perform.

Maybe 4, 5 wins.

The running backs deserve a positive mention. Both ran hard and got some tough yards.

After what Toledo did to WKU yesterday Im suprised we beat them last week

Team is trying / playing hard on almost every down. Problem is not desire by the 11 on the field each down.

It is coaching. It is how they are prepared. It is how the coaches seem to be arguing on the sideline more than coaching the next play. Coaches talk about players having a short attention span so they are ready for the next play. If we saw once we saw it 7 or 8 times coaches getting yelled or or discussing a bad play. Yes UK was killed by an uncalled pass interference play but instead of kicking a field goal Stoop argues and then lets his anger make a decision to go for it on 4 and 9.

Defense on several plays were busy pre-snap jumping around too much and got out of place before the ball was snapped. Offense we will not even have to discuss the firedrill style of running around and calling time out. It was like watching an old episode of the Three Stooges playing football at times.

The problems cannot be fixed this year for sure. Reason, coaching.

That said, Boley deserves a chance to lead the team for a game or two. It cannot get worse as the offense is horrid. He has had 2 series to try to do something being thrown in at the end of a game. He gets a pass. Even with a Boley Cutting his own path this next week, if we continue with the same coaching (way of coaching) we will still fail more times than not over the next couple of months.
