I think of "hot Seat" more as a fan/media perception of his performance. I don't know exactly, but I believe I saw somewhere it would be in the $27 million range. If we have a cluster fudge of a season, He'll be gone whatever the buyout. As for season ticket sales, I have no idea. I have mine, just as I have for the last 31 years. I'll be there through thick or thin.

From what I've seen you're not a pessimistic football fan. I would say you're a realist. I put myself in that camp. This is a hard schedule and we don't have an ounce of momentum to carry over from last season.Comment

I've annoyed more than one of our "football first" posters over the years here.👍 1Comment

Regarding season ticket sales, this is the last thing I heard. That was nearly two months ago though. Things may have changed since then.

I think of "hot seat" in terms of getting fired. Clearly his seat is hot, based on performance. How big is the buyout after this season?
Speaking of which, have you heard anything about the season ticket sales? I have not, but I can't imagine that it's looking all rosy over there.Comment

Football is serious money. Lose a coach, lose coordinators and assistants.
just throwing things against the wall, if Stoops leaves you’re out that money plus what you pay to buy out Sumrall…or any other employed pick of the day. Then staff buyouts and hires. So you’re lookin at what???? 60 million while supposedly the athletic dept is 12 million in a hole thanks to the new rules.
that’s a lot. At the same time it doesn’t seem to bother teams like Tennessee and Ol Miss.
if Kentucky wants to be a player they have to step up. We see soon enough.
of course if Mark Stoops manages a COY and wins seven he automatically gets another year added.Comment

Having attended all home games last year, I can say that our offensive line was one of the absolute worst pass blocking lines in all of D1 football. Vandgriff had less than 2 seconds a play before scrambling for his life- no quarterback can function under that pressure. The OL is the most important component of an offense, and ours was absolutely dominated against even the weakest teams on our schedule. inconceivable.👍 1Comment

We have that in common, too. The football only fans are the ones I don't mesh with, sometimes. The anger towards the basketball program has always been something I don't understand.Comment

Never understood Football "only" fans when you are a fan of a college team. I'm a UK fan. I may be football "first" but I'm not football "only". I root hard for basketball and all the other UK sports. I just happen to put football first because that's what I grew up on. My parents were 30+ year season ticket holders from around the time Commonwealth opened. I would attend a game or two a year with my Dad as a kid up until I went to UK in '89. I got my own season tickets in '93 when I graduated and have been going ever since. So I may post more on the football boards in general, I'll still be an the basketball boards as well rooting for them too."It don't make much sense that common sense don't make no sense no more" John Prine👍 1Comment

I'm a fan of both sports. Always have been. I don't mind to admit that I get a little jealous of the SEC schools who traditionally have good football teams. I like Stoops fine, as long as he gets it together this season. I have my doubts they'll be any good, though. Then we'll be right back to square 1. We may already be back to square 1 anyway.Comment
