    Top 25 college football stadiums

It's certainly subjective, but it does list some great places. Some I have visited and enjoyed, some I plan to visit, others I doubt I'll ever visit or would put on my own top 25 list.

Technological advances have made it so that watching a college football game at home is almost like being there in person. Almost...

Not been to any of these. The closest I've been is the parking lot of Neyland Stadium before a basketball game. I'd love to experience all of them but will probably never be able to. The only three stadiums for college football I've been to are Commonwealth Stadium,Giants Stadium and the Mini Dome in Johnson City.
    Kentucky fan since 1971.

Believe it or not, the only one of these I've seen in person is Husky Stadium in Seattle.....2300 miles away lol. My dear daughter, son in law, and two wonderful grandkids live 10 minutes from the stadium in the Maple Leaf section of Seattle. As was mentioned, lots of fans drive their boats to the stadium and "boat gate" there in the lake. Sounds like way too much fun. On a clear day, rare in that area, the view of the Cascades is really mind boggling. Just incredible. Also, 25th Ave. is full of clubs, killer restaraunts, and of course microbreweries. The Ram is by far our favorite. Tremendous pub fare and their Pale Ale is the real deal!! Three weeks from this day, I'll be up there playing hide and seek with the youngins.

I've been to a game in Neyland and Ohio Stadium. Both were impressive but Ohio's more so as I think the aluminum addition to Neyland looks cheap. Having said that, the club level stuff at Neyland is freaking awesome.

I have been to Michigan Stadium but not a game, the sheer size of it and Neyland is impressive.

I have been to games and graduations at Michie Stadium and it is the setting that makes it great not the stadium. If you transplanted it anywhere else, it would just be a really old concrete stadium.

I didn't know UCF had a newish stadium, I thought their old one stunk.

        It is an interesting list.

Maybe the new CWS will get on that list in the future.

I've been to 6 of the 25 - all SEC venues.

I find SC's place to be a dump & not deserving. You can't see a thing in the lowest rows as they are at field level & people walk in front of you. Georgia is much better and nice on campus setting. AR better too. Can't object to AL & LSU being there. Neyland is just big. Really chopped up though. UC is making big improvements to their place. Really nice setting in middle of campus. Can't say anything nice about PJ's.

I think PaPa Johns is an awesome stadium. There's not a bad view anywhere and those chair back seats are nice. I was hoping when CWS announced the plans that chair back seats would be included. Those bleachers are UNCOMFORTABLE! All blue chair backs would be awesome!

I agree. It was probably a money issue and would further reduce the seating capacity.

In all honestly I prefer the chair back install that goes on the bleacher seats at commonwealth to PJ's plastic seats. I also hate corporate naming...

I just don't care much for Playskool seats.

                        1. Trying to get thru portals to/from seats is a nightmare with as small as they are & so few per number of fans. 2. The upper deck is a mess with being so high over the suites, poor viewing from there, & can't raise seats to walk past other fans in steep/narrow rows. Net, won't be headed back there again.

Plus is they do sell beer to the peons rather than just the elite as UK will be doing.

They're mostly pink now from sun bleaching. They'll be spending some dough to replace those soon.

Access from the concourse to the seats is bad there - very poorly designed. The seats are cramped.

But I have to disagree about South Carolina's stadium. I like it. It has a great atmosphere and gets loud. Fans there are classy and pleasant. Their traditions are pretty cool. I've seen games there in the lower deck and upper deck and can't complain with my view from either. Post-game traffic is awful, but if you park or stay in downtown Columbia and walk a bit - not at all a bad walk - it is not a concern. And Columbia is a nice little city to visit.

Mike Leach said that the loudest place in all of college football is the enclosed end zone in South Carolina's stadium. I think he's coached at most of the stadiums in three of the big five conferences. The crowd at South Carolina games gets into their games. They have good fans - knowledgeable, into the game, not rude or crude.

I've heard from friends that a game there is a terrific experience. I'd like to go do that someday.
