With all due respect, I cannot see ANYONE going from a college coordinator to HC in the NFL. But then, what do I know?

Not sure that's true Matt. Assuming he does not get offered the Rams job, far as I know the Viking and Miami teams both will be looking for an OC. Since their new head coaches are formally RAM coordinator seem like Coen will be in the running for one or both jobs.

I read, somewhere, that the new Viking coach is going to take someone from the Rams with him to be the Minn. OC. As far as knowing something soon, I'm doing my best (I don't know how good that is) Columbo impression. I believe the Rams are going to offer their OC position to Coen. If he takes it, we'll know soon. If for some reason he turns it down (not saying he would), I think we'll have him for at least one more season.

Maybe we need to pump the breaks a little bit.

Yes, UK’s offense improved dramatically under Coen. No question. But, how much of that was Coen and how much was Levis, Robinson, Ali, CRod and the Big Blue Wall? No OC at UK since Joker held the job under Rich Brooks had those kinds of tools with which to work. And, Coen’s NFL resume is ASSISTANT QB Coach. I do not think it is a done deal that he’s gone.

^ To be the Devil's Advocate, I'm not sure we land skill position players like Levis / Robinson and the incoming WR's without Coen.

I understand you have the personnel regardless of the coach/system, but Coen and the change in perception of UK's offense have really helped us in recruiting and transfer portal so far.

Sorry folks. The information regarding the Vikings having hired a RAM assistant for OC is not correct. Or at least it was not correct at the time I posted. The Vikings are interested in a Ram assistant for OC but have not hired one yet.

Just saw that, Vikings took a RAM assistant for OC. And the Miami job has been filled also.

There is no way we do. The "UK runs the Rams offense" is a major marketing piece.

Totally agree. I think “perception” is the key word and we are certainly riding that wave right now.

Have to wait on what the Rams HC does. McVay talking about retirement may really slow the process of the Rams on whether Coach Coen is offered the OC job there.

It's rumored that Coen has already turned down at least one college and one NFL team (the Saints) to stay at UK. It just may be, though, that the lure of the Rams, if he's offered the job, will be too much to resist. Stay tuned folks.

Per multiple sites, the Rams are going to interview the Falcon's QB coach for the OC opening. Hope he gets the job.
