I would love to see the Mark Stoops coaching tree expand if for no other reason to have quality candidates when Stoops retires.

^ Interesting point. From a selfish pov I have hoped to keep the staff together at least a few more years, albeit I acknowledge it’s both not very realistic and also not reflective of having a talented, young group as I think we have.

I'd love to keep Liam Coen around too - I don't think it'll happen, but I would love to!

Sumrall was on Neal Briwn's staff at Troy and was a candidate to replace him when Neal left for WVA. I fear we lose him.

Sounds like we've lost Sumrall. It isn't official yet.

In essence, this gives coach Stoops the equivalent of a life-time contract.
A rather low bar IMO with four non-conference games and Vandy. Pretty much spotted four or five wins.

What Mitch seems to be saying is win at least seven games a year, no matter who those seven are, and you can stay as long as you wish.

Per multiple sources, Jon is just waiting for the contract to be ready for his signature. He's gone in my opinion.

It's official now. Troy has posted a welcome home tweet on Twitter.

And I can think of MANY MANY years when we would fail to win even 6.

We have short memories as to where the bar should be based on historic evidence. We are also about to drop one cup cake and add an SEC game every year.

Congratulations to him. I'm sorry to see him go, but Stoops seems to have a real eye for assistant coach talent. Let's go find the next great LB coach.

Good luck Coach. I'm sure his replacement will be a very good Coach.

Christian Robinson at UF would be a great hire, IMO. Might not make Napier's staff, great recruiter in Florida, currently interim DC, see what it would take.
