Big win despite our efforts to give it away. Defense stepped up there at the end.

Well, I awoke to find a very pleasant surprise awaiting me. I was happy to see the stadium jam packed and how the crowd was really into the game.Philippians 4:11-4:13👍 1Comment

It isn’t often that the second game is the biggest of the regular season, but that may very well prove true of last night’s matchup. More stressful than it needed to be, and I’m officially concerned about the defense, but fortunately we get a couple tune-ups before things get serious against Florida.
And again, as revelatory as Levis has been for our offense, he’s got to start leading his receivers on those short throws. That’s two weeks in a row that those throws have been a little behind his man and resulted in INTs. Most have been quick to shift the blame to the WR — “Gotta help the QB†— but let’s be honest: we’ve been hamstrung at WR for years, so if anything a good QB needs to help the receiver until we bring in guys who can do the opposite.
Finally, I saw a pretty gruesome stat before Jones’ INT: in six quarters, UK’s turnover:takeaway ratio was 5:0. That’ll tank a season in a hurry if we don’t sort it out.Last edited by George; 09-12-2021, 09:52 AM.Comment

We have had more intense atmospheres in the Stoops era, but on about three third downs / 4th downs in the 4th quarter, it was as loud as I have ever heard it. Most of my section stood for the entire 4th quarter.
I thought we played sloppy and let a team we were 14 pts better than, hang around. Still, I'll take ANY SEC W.
I was as mad as Stoops about the slow-developing deep shot on second down that got the QB sacked up seven at the seven-minute mark, but then to turn around and drop a 34-yard bomb on third down was pretty epic.Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that...
