    Bryce Oliver leaving UK

The Kentucky Wildcats are losing another former Eddie Gran recruit to the transfer portal.

On Tuesday, wide receiver Bryce Oliver entered the portal, according to Rivals.

A redshirt junior our of Fort Lauderdale (FL), Oliver finishes his UK career with eight grabs for 125 yards and one touchdown. Injuries plagued him this past season as he caught just two passes for 14 yards.

I would expect a couple more WRs to transfer out.

Best of luck to all of them.

Hate seeing guys leave but I REALLY wanted to see Branham stick it out. Unfortunately he left before we got Coen. There was something about that dude.

Hate to see this one. I think this guy had really great talent. Great body control!

Best of luck to Bryce. Truth is, in three years he had 8 career receptions for 125 career yards. Not all his fault. It would be helpful to land a WR who could do that every game. Our passing game has been anemic.

How many targets did he have?

One of those years we had a QB who was a WR. One of those years he hardly played due to injury with a suspect passing scheme.

Oliver is going to be good for someone.

I sort of hate seeing ANYONE leave. At some point in their young lives, they had big dreams of playing at UK. It is always sad to see those dreams fade away.

That having been said, from a cold, objective standpoint, I do not see this as a big loss for the team. Despite our admittedly anemic passing attack, others managed to stand out, such as Ali and Dailey. Our WR room is WAY too crowded, with some pretty good talent. Ali and Dailey and Robinson and Epps and “Donut,” for starters. Thrown in last year’s crowded WR class and the 4 highly touted kids we are bringing in this year, and something has to give. Oliver was a good guy with some nice flashes, but I do think he could compete with the dozen or so guys listed above.
