If it was Michigan I might be a little concerned but not State. I think there's only a select few schools that could lure Stoops away and MSU isn't one. As others have said, Kentucky is a better program now than MSU.Comment

Coach Stoops hasn't been mentioned from what I've read. Most people, in the know, seem to think the coach at the University of Cincinnati has the inside track. My concern is if the UC coach takes the MSU job will UC come after coach Gran and would he be interested in returning to UC?Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment

Fickell appears to be staying at UC. He doesn’t seem to be the only possibility that has disavowed interest in the job.
Michigan State has some messes that may dissuade potential candidates. And it isn’t as attractive a football program as it was just a free years ago. Dantonio had them playing some very good football at one point, but that wanted some in recent years.Comment

Michigan State has had an enormous number of problems across the Athletic board. Absolutely amazing and in a way worse than the horror show at Penn State that seemed to be in one guy in one program. Michigan State seems to be Louisville times a dozen.
In that light, Petrino could make yet another move, I suppose.Comment

Internet chatter is bringing up coach Stoops' name again. I really can't see him being interested though.Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment

No worries on my part, either. I was just posting the information. His situation is the same as Stoops, IMO. There's only a select few schools he would consider making a lateral move to, and I don't think MSU is one. But with the way we have recruited Michigan you can't blame them for reaching out.Comment

I certainly hope he stays, but at what point do you draw the line on salaries? I don't know if you can put a dollar amount on his value to the program, but if he's raised to say one million a year how are coach Gran and coach White going to feel? I'm glad this is Mitch's problem and not mine.Philippians 4:11-4:13👍 1Comment
