I saw some speculation, on Twitter, that coach Stoops may be bringing brother Mike on board to replace coach Hood. If true, I'm not so sure this is a good idea.

I don’t care which of his brothers it is, it’s a bad idea. Nepotism causes problems, period. If he’s such a good coach, he’d have a job he wanted elsewhere right now. I hope UK doesn’t indulge the same sort of foolishness that was part of the recent disaster at UL. No one at any public institution of any sort ought to have any relative anywhere in their chain of command, period. Doing otherwise invites problems with fairness, objectivity, bias, etc., and guarantees issues with how non-relatives are treated vs. relatives.
I will be severely disappointed in the university and head coach if this comes to pass. And I think it is more likely than not that difficult and ugly problems will result at some point.👍 1Comment

I agree with the esteemed posters above. The ONLY positive is if White gets poached Mike could be a convenient replacement. Still don't like the sound of it.Comment

Who cares?

I agree with the others who have a problem with this. In my opinion, it's asking for trouble.Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment

I say hire the most qualified individual for the job that can work within the framework of the team. I don’t care about the sex, race, family relationships, etc, etc. If the hiring manager in charge is competent and and is willing to manage the dynamics brought with any hire, then let that person do their job. Putting barriers up may limit the potential.Comment

If Bob is hired and he makes one mistake and CS stands up for his Coach, which he has done before. The fact that this coach is his brother could cause a riff among fans even if CS was right.John 3:3

That's a fan problem. I don't disagree that such a thing might happen. Stoops needs to do what is best for him and by extension the program.Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... I'm more concerned that it might cause discord among the coaching staff rather than the fan base.Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment
