If I'm not mistaken, the def. wore black helmets when Curry was there, but I can't find a pic. Wasn't the def. called the Black Watch or something like that?

No, they outlined the numbers on the jerseys in black and yes it was the Black Watch.

I've always been partial to the white helmets from the early Curci years with outline of the state and the wildcat on it.

Speaking of Bill Curry we should thank him for recruiting John Schlarman and bringing him to UK. These last two years wouldn't have happened without him.

The fifth helmet from left in the middle row, with the black face mask: in one or more of Curry’s final years, defensive players could earn a black outline around the K logo through their play. A few did. I suppose it was an attempt at motivation like Ohio State’s helmet stickers. He did try to nickname them the Black Watch.

Saw a guy at work the other day with a ball cap on. Blue with a big white Power K on it and nothing else. I have to have that.
