Hanging on to beat Tennessee would've pretty much guaranteed a trip to Florida if Kentucky wanted it, to the Gator if desired, or possibly even the Outback if conference championship games shook out fortuitously. That one underthrown Bowden to Rigg pass - a sure TD if caught, but unfortunately, an underthrown interception...one play had a huge impact on the whole season.

If one were to handicap the field of potential bowl opponents like horses in a race, Virginia Tech would be the favorite, with Iowa drawing bettors, and the rest hanging around with fatter odds, but all certainly in the race.

Oregon won last night, which very well may have eliminated us from Gator Bowl consideration.

As of 6:40 a.m., this morning, Zac Oakes of A Sea Of Blue still believes the Cats are headed to Jacksonville with Indiana being a possible opponent.

KSR reports Kentucky and Indiana will face off in the Gator Bowl.

Edit - now we may be going to the Belk bowl.

Belk Bowl versus Virginia Tech. Supposedly we got bumped out of the Gator at the last minute by the vile orange stain.

We got the Belk and they got the Gator. The Vols stick it to us again.

I hope Tennessee beats the brakes off of IU

                    Ugh
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

VaTech will be a formidable opponent. They have one of the most highly-respected defensive coordinators in the country (Bud Foster). I'd rather have played Indiana.

I didn't mean that as a complaint, but rather as a statement of fact. I don't think we have anything to complain about. They finished with the same overall record as us, finished two spots higher in the SEC East standings and they beat us in a head to head meeting.

VT has beaten a top 20 team and has a one-point loss to Notre Dame. They are going to be tough and I will say favored.

This may be a tougher game than had we played IU.
