I'll just end it with this....coach, go ahead and put the two quarterbacks in for a shot....if they lose, throw ints, fumble....it ain't like we aren't already seeing that. Give the kids a chance....that's why they've gutted it out with you.

I saw on Twitter, a few minutes ago, that Bowden is spending the bye week in sessions with qb coach Hinshaw.

I would guess this is to drill the keys into him so he can react and not think to situations in the RPO.

Why wouldn't you want to go straight to the option that gives us the best chance to win?

I can't for the life of me figure out why the internet is White Knighting for a QB that has never played. You don't think there is a reason they don't put him in? Between Gran, Hinshaw, and Stoops, vs fans who has had the better opportunity to evaluate what Walker Wood vs. Bowden at QB?

That goes back to wondering how the three you mentioned didnt see how badly Sawyer Smith was hurt. Or wondering why they didnt act sooner. It also goes to this question of why we keep recruiting higher but the depth doesn't seem to get better.
as far as having the best chance to win, then why use Bowden and not anyone else...including a kid with his helmet on ready to go....THEN state there was no way that game was going to be won (when questioned about not going for two).....

I think the staff is running out of rabbits to pull out of hats. They've had a pretty remarkable run....S.Johnson, Snell exploding on the scene when Barker went down, Allen going from a three star player one year to a six star the next, and on....
Now I think they are in the we hope stage.....and like Matt pointed out, it's a head scratcher how we got there.

I want to hope 2 weeks from now its fixed....but my faith in this crew is getting shakier with each statement they make.

That's the puzzling thing, to me, about the entire qb situation. The staff continues to recruit drop back passer style qb's while at the same time they continue to seem to be committed to the RPO off.

Yeah.....its a bit of a question. I thought perhaps we were looking to change up, but right now doesn't appear so.

True we had 3 and 3 got hurt. But we have 8 total QB's on the roster which means they all have at least played QB in HS. I have no idea if they are all still on campus, playing on special teams, red shirting or on the practice squad. As a former coach and referee I understand what goes on at practice and coaches are much better at deciding who plays than I am. I just hope somebody else is taking snaps.

Stoops said today at his press conference that their hope is Sawyer heals up in the next week and a half, and that Walker Wood and Lynn Bowden are working too. Gilmore continues to practice but it seems like they really want to redshirt him.

I understand. I was answering the general question of why, with other backups, they aren't getting a shot at starting.
