Going on 4th and 1 didn't bother me...not pressuring a qb and leaving a green secondary exposed in crunch time does.
I hope Poore hits his next one....we need him.

Kudos to the O-line....Florida led the nation in sacks but only had one last night.

Agree with most. Differences:
- going for 4th down was a terrible call. If inches, maybe. But not at a yard and half. This lost momentum and game.
- need much more Smoke

New one:
- Ditch the Wildcat no matter who you put back there.

if could go on, but these are the two things that stood out to me the most.

The only wildcat I want to see at UK going forward is the one doing push-ups after we score. Aside from Randall Cobb it hasn’t ever worked for us.

I pretty much agree Bill. In spite of this, that, and the other we were one 35 yard field goal from winning this game. We didn't run the ball as well as I thought we might. Sawyer played better starting for the first time than I thought he would. We definitely missed Terry's speed. I hate losing this game. I also was looking for Rodriguez on those short yardage situations. So now that Sawyer has game film other teams have something to game plan.

JoJo Kemp is another one. Snell ran it well from time to time. Seems like A.J. Rose did have a couple of good runs out of it last year (but only a couple), which I assume is why they went to him.

It was a terrible call. Looks to me like Smoke should be the man for this team in most tough situations. But then again, as we're driving there right before the missed field goal Smoke couldn't pick up that one yard to get us the first down. That would have been huge, to put it lightly.

Really tough loss given how monumentally we outplayed Florida for most of the game. I'm not sure the secondary on this team can hold up to get us to 7 wins. They're really young. I tend to think this UK team has some rough times ahead.

Maybe. I imagine we’ll lose another game this year we shoulda won. But I look at our schedule and Florida is probably the second best team we play, at least in terms of talent. Missouri might get us, and I imagine Georgia will boat race us. But Mississippi state doesn’t look good, UT looks bad, Arkansas is awful, and we have UT Martin in November. Haven’t seen Vanderbilt, but I can’t imagine losing to them unless we’re really banged up.

This team is still good enough to win 7 or 8 games.

I’ve seen the slow mo of that last targeting call and I get more pissed off everytime I see it. I originally thought it was the correct call even if it was a flat out stupid interpretation. After seeing it more and more, I do not see how you could conclude it was a targeting play.

Florida’s QB clearly lowered his head to force a targeting call and there’s nothing Carter could’ve done. It boggles the mind how the refs didn’t come away with that interpretation. If the targeting call is being used as a means of drawing the other team into a penalty, this sport is done.

Just make a QB in the grasp rule. Florida scored one TD while QB going down in the grasp, then trying not to allow that we tackle and get called for targeting. That play really hurt.

I'm in almost total agreement with Bill. While I agree with the great pass blocking our OL is doing, when we needed one yard for a first down, there was no hole for Smoke. Somebody mentioned we missed Terry's speed which we did, but did anyone notice how Smith caught the runner from behind and tackled him? Smith can run, we just haven't seen him yet.

I wish i could like this 100 times. That stupid play needs to go asap! Screams offensive ineptitude to me.

It worked with Benny though not as much last season. I HATE that play!

How about why were we playing a zone defense when the backup came in? You rush more than 4 in that situation. And we were terrible with the zone. Conservative play calling killed us. This game is on the coaches. No other way around it.

Heard somebody say after the game that they thought we changed our defense after Franks went out. I don't know enough about football to say. It could be simply that the back-up was better and making quicker decisions.

I do know that we had Franks completely befuddled. Right before he was hurt he was completely falling apart. There's a good chance we would've seen the back-up on the next drive anyway even if there hadn't been an injury.
