I didn't get to watch the game because my Hulu didn't get the SEC Alternate (who's bonehead decision was this?), but I'm sick about Terry Wilson. Sounds like it was a dirty play, and it's really unfortunate. Happy that Smith came in and passed for two TDs, but it really puts a question mark on the season going forward.

It was a tough play and a clear horse collar, but I would stop short of saying it was a dirty play.

I don't think so. Smith looked ok. I was never sold on OSU's third-string QB. I hope this isn't a, "Now you're going to see how much Mike Hartline meant to this team" type year.

Hard to gauge if a tackle like that is intentional. Instinct is to reach out and grab a guy. Still. Just don’t reach out there, but it’s easier said than done in the heat of the moment.

I’m very skeptical the backup from Troy can perform on this level. I was never a Gunnar Hoak advocate but I thought he was a serviceable QB as a backup. No idea about Sawyer Smith.

Smith is more of a passing QB, and less of a running one. If the receivers do their job, I believe we'll be ok. I don't think this is the end of the season by any means.

He started like the last 7 games for Troy last year. Led them to a bowl win. Also beat Nebraska on the road. Excited for him. What is weird is that he doesn't use the laces when throwing. Rather odd but if it works don't stop.

Well.....beating Nebraska last year was -meh-. And it wasn't Penn State in a bowl game.

BUT...I like the way the young man responds. And no other QB is ahead of him. Walker Wood is next up.

The play didn't look like the tackler was doing anything more than trying to bring Terry down and just grabbed in the wrong place. Of course it's hard to judge intent on most plays, but it didn't look to me like he was trying to hurt Terry. If you and I see it different, that's OK.

I don’t believe his intent was to injure TW, but that horse collar tackle was outlawed for a reason.

It was for sure, and the play was handled correctly. The Officiating crew we had Saturday was one of the top crews in college football.
