Game Predictions For UK-Toledo

With the exception of whether or not Peters will be eligible, I guess we know about everything there is to know. I'm picking the Cats by 17 points.

It's always hard to pick an opener, and this year is no exception. All we have is memories of how returning players played last year, and what the Coaches are saying about this years team. However we are all Kentucky Football fans and are full of hope and expectation.

First games are hard calls. Toledo is picked by several to win their conference and all football players hit hard. Stoops opening games aren't normally pretty, and seldom has a good game after long layoffs.
Kentucky wins late, wins ugly. Cats by 3.

I was with you initially Matt and thought we will win by 17. I've since added another 7 point- Kentucky 24 - Toledo 14. The reason it isn't 31 its for Kentucky is that Stoops will get 10 points on top and then grind it out the rest of the way. I'm looking forward to how we use our running backs and tight ends in the passing game. Our RB's can catch the ball, so I've heard, and out tight ends have some speed. Guess we'll see. I expect a more dynamic and explosive offense.

Hopefully, we won't have to show too many of our cards in the first two games. I expect coach Stoops and Co. to play it as close to the vest as possible as not to give too much away to the Gators.

I'm not taking Toledo lightly, but if we have to use nearly the entire playbook to beat them, I'm afraid it may be a long season.

I know we haven't been good in openers and Toledo is a good team. Still. Our talent is WAY better and I expect a dynamic offense this year. Toledo may not have much time to pass as our D Line is the best on paper in my lifetime. LBs are solid as well even with the loss of Allen. Those guys will keep the pressure off our young secondary. I am going against the grain and say we curb stomp Toledo.
