Here is something I saw when Houk was in the game. He threw a pass over the middle that was complete. The pass was low, but it was thrown in a spot that only the receiver could catch it. Now in my mind, that pass was thrown by a passer, and when several of those type passes are completed, our running game returns. One problem I see with an athlete like Wilson at this point in his career. He has always relied on his feet, and at this level, he can't. His passes are rarely on target because he is not a passer, he is an athlete. I'm not so down on Wilson because I think he's doing his best with what he has to work with.

      Somehow it is.
As I'm sure you're aware, Bill, the sports fan is a strange breed. Even though eight or nine wins represents coach Stoops best season yet, and some will say any improvement is progress, when something better seems to be very attainable, simply by beating a rebuilding UT team with a sub .500 record, and the opportunity is squandered, it's difficult to be happy with something less.

A lot of this comes back to recruiting. We have over achieved all year. We still need big-time recruits.

I agree with everything you say about Wilson, Lighthouse. I don't mean for it to sound as if I'm downing the kid but right now he isn't a SEC caliber QB, and I'm not sure he ever will be.

I was telling my wife that we have some commitments from some very good players. I just hope this game today doesn't cause any of them to change their minds.

and now Matt House's defense looks like LAST years defense.
It's really kind of mind boggling right now to compare this team to the one that beat Florida and Mississippi State....today was a very poor performance against a team that just isn't very good at all.
You hit the nail on the head right there. The O-line play has fallen apart. Everything starts there. If you don't block people nothing works.

Stop it. Hoak has demonstrated he isn’t a better passer that TW.

Great points, and looking at the season, really on the money.

Bingo. Right on the money. This game was far more attainable than Florida or Miss State. Wheels off for a program that has accomplished what this one has is kind of mind boggling.

I don't know. Really don't. He definitely isn't the overall athlete.

He was on the play I mentioned. Overall, I have to lean towards what Matt Dillon said about an SEC caliber QB.

I do LOVE what TW brings as a QB. But he isn't enough. I stated before the season began we would have to play both, A LOT, because otherwise we'd get stuck in the mud. Well, we are stuck.

                            This.

The two times we've seen Hoak this year, he's turned the ball over.

Not to mention, the coaches see both of these guys everyday in practice. If Hoak had earned the job, he'd be playing.

Everything starts with the line, and they've been blatantly bad ever since the bye week. Not sure what happened, but thems the facts.

He has proven he throws better than TW to me. I also would rather a QB that tried to pretend to block.

What has Hoak done to prove to you that he throws better than Terry Wilson?
