Well, first of all Allen is being held some but not on every play. My personal feeling on officiating is this. The officials still never care who wins a game, but with the "review" process, like to monitor in basketball, this has caused officials to be hesitant to make a gut call because they view it in real time, and the review official has more angles and slo-motion. I saw our #71 commit more holds than any other OL in the Vandy game, but can't explain why they weren't called. Neither can I explain the holding call on Bowden's return.

I don't mind the interior line holds getting missed on both sides. I would rather they only call the egregious ones. I think Josh Allen should get at least three more calls in his favor per game than he does.

What I truly don't get are some of the odd calls that have gone against us in the biggest moments in the last two games. Phantom ruffing the passer, missed block-in-the-backs, head-scratcher holding, and PI calls...

While I don't disagree with your impression, might I remind you officials make so-called phantom calls for the other team also. When an official is watching a play and they throw a flag, you can believe they saw something and in real time. It's been a long time for me, but the speed of the game today and the talent level of today's players, makes it difficult for even a trained eye to see everything. I feel your pain because I watch too.

It should feel great to be 6 - 1. Seems like it's time to have a QB controversy. I understand a petition is being circulated to play Gunner. Well if Alabama can have a
QB controversy then why not us? Oh, we're not Alabama and we don't have Tua sitting on the bench, or Hurt, or ...? It just seems to me that a lot of folks deal with failure better than success. Ky football fans have had more experience coping with the former than dealing with the latter. I'm giddy not watching teams run through us, around us, and over us. Not having to watch tall WR's reach over our CB's for catches. I remember the Mizzou game when they had those tall and talented WR's just eat up yardage making over the top catches. I was hoping Wilson's learning curve would have increased a bit more by the Vandy game. We have beaten some really good teams. I watched the Florida and Miss State games again. Wilson was a difference maker in both of those games. I do expect his play will improve against Mizzou. I'm with RV on his analysis. This season has been so long in coming. I know it's not over. We need a field goal kicker.

With Wilson I think right now his shaken confidence is the biggest impediment.

Agreed. I think the staff is admirable in sticking with him and letting him work through it, but I do wonder how long he should get.

I have wondered if a series of Hoak would have helped him snap out of it. Seems like a team player in his interviews, and a series of him watching with the coach might have calmed him down as well as see how the pressure was being applied.

The people with the petition are idiots.

If a petition makes Stoops play a different QB then I'd be up for a new coach. I'd be fine with Hoak getting some snaps but our head coach better keep his cahones about him. It's no one's choice but his (with input from Gran).

The petition is just white noise from fans who assume they know more about a kid they have seen play less than 20 snaps than the coaching staff who see him every day and whose jobs are on the line if they lose.

Hoak's dad needs to pipe down too. His social media nonsense isn't helping his kid or the team. As far as I can recall gunner has had two great drives against middling competition and two or three poor drives. It was his job to win when he replaced Terry for a few series in the first game, he didn't win it. If he gets another shot, I'll be rooting for him to succeed but he ain't Tim Couch.

This. Sometimes when your in the midst of a mind trap you need a short break to watch and see from a little away. I think TW has the goods, but backing out to absorb and learn can sometimes be a boon.

I agree. His confidence is waning.

Eighteen yards passing will get you beat most nights. UK was lucky Vandy was just as bad them at trying to get a good mix. If this doesn't change it will catch up to them in a big way. It may happen this weekend, we will see. Then Wilson could come out and the lights come on for him and he becomes and effective passer. You never know. But he has the problem of no receivers other than Bowden and Conrad (who they won't target much).
UK should lose no more than two more games. 9-3 is a glorious season for UK. That would be the best since 1977 for me and for most people now the best in their lifetime. Anything less will be a disappointment. The game this week is a toss up. UK with a great defense going against a very good offense. Mizzou with a very average defense going against an unstable offense of UK. If UK can somehow manage about 24 to 27 points this week they have a good shot to win and a 10 win season. But if the same offense comes out that has been the last two games then 14 points won't be enough to win this week.

You know what these boards are for criticism of our teams. That's what fans do. A place to vent even if may not be warranted at all times. If someone doesn't like that then they should not come here and be offended. If we weren't here being fans then it would apathy and that is the worst thing you can have in fans for your sports team.

In what way? You think Stoops is changing things up because of a few know-nothing fans?
