I agree, and some of us have been beating that drum for a time.....but the guy is such a good blocker he makes that running game go as well. Hard trade off.

Wilson looked pretty good in the pocket. We don't need much else from him, really. Just keep hitting those short slants and out routes and that'll help prevent the defense from keeping eight in the box.

Gran has been very solid this year. I wonder how much of our second half was just playing conservative to help avoid injuries going into next week? It was pretty clear they couldn't do much against our defense, so maybe they just wanted to keep it simple and get out with a win.

      Any update on Watkins?

I didn’t get to see the game but it sounded like the second half was a grind it out matchup where we just wanted to get to the locker room.

Legit caliber SEC defense, offense pretty darn good, I like it. Legitimately feel we should win at least 9 games with the way the rest of the schedule looks.

This is the best Kentucky team of my lifetime - we’ve beaten three good SEC teams to get where we’re at. I’ve never seen a player at Kentucky like Benny Snell.

Great, great defense by this team. USC could hardly sustain a drive and when they did in the 4th qtr they couldn't sore. You have to love that! If Allen isn't the SEC player of the year on defense so far I don't know who could be. He is just a beast and so far no one can handle him. Only TD given up was sort of flukish. DB made a mistake but I can live with a long play like that as long as it doesn't happen often. It seemed like Stoops just wanted to grind out the game in the 2nd half. (That sounds familiar to us who follow UK basketball. ) I suppose he just doesn't have enough confidence yet in the QB not to make big mistakes. But eventually they have to open it up just a little more. USC really filled the box up in the 2nd half and stymied UK's run offense. Another terrific win. Tough one next week though. They will have to limit the penalties and be better on offense to win a game in Aggie land. Very doable though.

Just to say I didn't like Daniel be thrown out at all. Sure it was a late hit but you don't throw out someone for a hit like that. Just another reason things like this are driving me away from football. Its a contact sport. Let them make contact!

The second half was a grind because SC made adjustments at halftime that caused problems for our running game. We, on the other hand, didn't use those adjustments to our advantage.

This could all come crashing down next week. The A&M game scares me.

I know the players don't feel this way, but for me this game is playing on House money.
pre-season I thoughta REASONABLE expectation for a team with a new QB, plus how porous the D was last year, would be 3-2....
                      So 5-0 is golden.
Bring on the Aggies....should be one burner of a game.

If they lose next week a historic season is still very much in play.

10 wins at Kentucky would be something to behold. You want to win every game obviously but the dream isn't crushed if they go in there and lose.

Having said that, I do think TAMU is winnable given what they did this past weekend against an awful Arkansas team.

I did think they adjusted well though in the first half when South Carolina was running that weird defense. Gran's use of the pass to set up the run looked pretty brilliant to me.

Stoops has always had a thing where he tries to sit on leads and take the air out. If the kid hits that field goal that game looks radically different because it makes South Carolina have to play it a lot differently. They would've had to open it up, and I think we get the ball in better positions to score.

No disappointment if they lose this week. Ten wins has only been done once in my lifetime and that was 1977. Nine wins is very doable now and ten has a good chance of happening. Win this week and you can really dream abut going into the UGA game undefeated, Did I just write that?

If I was the coach, I'd move practice indoors and put the thermostat on about 95-100. After it being so cool here, the Cats are liable to wilt in that Texas heat.

It's only supposed to be in the mid to high 70s by gametime.
