We were all up in arms about so many obvious no call when it came to Holding. One of the guys near me said he thought there was a new rule. Is that correct? Funny thing is, the 2nd half they were calling Holds that didn't look any different than previous holds. Help!!!!!

No, the rule hasn't changed. I saw a couple that weren't called, one was by us.

Thanks. I know it is hard for every hold to be called. But seems like some were in the open field. Thanks again for the clarification

It really feels good to be a UK football fan today. I had us winning this game by 11 pts but was totally wrong about our defense giving up points, or even yards for that matter. I'm going to really enjoy watching reruns of this game, and even the Florida game. So here comes the bandwagon with all the negative posters suddenly waving banners and such. The next game is South Carolina. We shouldn't overlook anyone. I saw where one outlet was going to rank us #10. Whoa! We still have some pieces that need to continue to develop in our passing game. If these pieces develop, then we can rise to this height. I remember us moving up in the rankings after beating #1 rank LSU. Oops ... I think we have more depth than that team, but we need to continue to develop. Too soon to start bouncing off the walls. Miss State could have been reading too many press clippings rather than working to get better. Regardless, it feels good today.

One thing that has to get better is our FG kicker. I know he's new but we just might need a late one to win a game.

Call them bandwagon or fair weather fans if you must--but if the excitement level doesn't amp up a few decibels with the product and results we are seeing now then the program has deep problems. Nothing worse than apathy and disinterest. I'm with the team through thick and thin but welcome anyone who wants to enjoy this with me/us.

That team had four head knocking games in a row, and is why I've always whined about depth and the ease with which we underrate it. It's everything, and as we saw with that team the difference in an honest ~10th best team in the nation and one that limped over the finish line at the end. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope our guys continue their apparently good habits.

Gosh those two games against LSU and Florida were rough.

We need that. It's infectious. The defense was downright nasty last night. Probably the best defensive performance I have seen in my lifetime.

Well me and the wife were attending an Elton John concert in DC while this game was going on. So that's my excuse. It was very appropriate that Elton started the concert with Bennie and the Jets since Benny and the Cats were taking it to Miss State.
I did't watch the game until yesterday although I knew they had won. Just a good dominating game by UK. They intimidated both sides of the Miss State line. They were off balance all night and you could see they were frustrated by UK's physical play. Stoops finally has his high level defense in play. They held Miss State to just 201 total yards when they had been averaging 587. That's a take down by anyone's standards. This defense will take them far in the conference season.
Can we start mentioning the "H" word with Benny Snell? I'm not sure there is a better RB in college football. Maybe a couple of QB's have a small leg up on him but not by much. If UK keeps winning and Snell stays healthy he will be in the conversation.
UK has it all out in front of them now. Beating a good Miss State opened the door wide for an outstanding season. Maybe the best since 1977. As long as they stay focused and major injuries stay away this should be a very special season. It won't be easy this week against South Carolina. They have it going too. Only a beating by UGA has kept them from being undefeated. Winner of this game will be on track for at least 2nd place in the SEC East. Also a New Years Day bowl could be on the line.
                          Kentucky fan since 1971.

For the Reds fans. Jeff Brantley and Jeff Piecoro had a pie in the face bet for the game between their alma maters.
