Florida will eat him alive, I wish I understood how Stoops and Gran make decisions when it comes to quarterbacking.
Agree, whatever advantage we get from his running, we lose two-fold in his inept passing. I don't blame Wilson, I blame Gran. The fact that he can't recruit a decent QB speaks volumes.

Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

          SORRY, BUT WHAT THE HELL????
Gunnar did some good work on that drive but also threw a pick 6 that was dropped right before the td.

In the second half he threw at least 2 routine passes way high and two others significantly off target. (Maybe only one) add to that, he was jittery in the pocket and can’t stretch the field with vertical passing.

To my eye it was obvious why Wilson is qb1. It’s not close.

Spirit, we will agree to disagree.
hopefully it will be two entirely better QBs next game.
coach said he was going to simplify things.
            expect more runs next week.

What's obvious, to me, is that neither QB, at this point, is ready to lead us to where we want to go.

Get ready for a ton of WILDCAT pkg. Which i do not like. Actually with TT Wilson we are pretty much in a Wildcat pkg. Not going to be a pretty year watching the train wreck of a passer like TT Wilson. I guess Clark is very bad at this point if he is 3 and it is not even close for him.

                    The good of the game:

It was a win. The first on the way to six and bowl eligibility.

UK has found a good compliment to Snell in AJ Rose. UK hasn't had a two 100 yard rushers in a game since 2016. It's quite obvious whatever success this team has will be because of the running game. It could be one of the better ones in the country.

The defense was good overall. Offense put them in bad situations and they did as well as you can expect. But they do look better overall. They will need a solid defense if they expect to have a better record this season.

                    The bad of the game:

Wilson just didn't look like a major college QB. Just too many turnovers, UK was lucky to survive those. I will give him credit for being better in the 2nd half. At least no turnovers. I expect Stoops to stay with him. Coaches are stubborn and won't change a QB until they absolutely have to.

Attendance was lowest for an opener since 2012. Just not much excitement for UK football t seems. They need a win over a really good team to get some pizzazz back into the program. Next week would be a good start.

Kicking game didn't look very good either. They had better improve that or it will cost them a game sometime down the road.

Also I watched a decent amount of football yesterday. The one common thing was the targeting rule. I had hardly watched for more than an hour and saw four players get kicked out of games. That's just absurd. I know why they are doing and all. But I don't like it. The football powers are trying to legislate a game to be safe when it can't be. Its taking away from the essence of the game. It's not the game I watched in the past and I don't like it. This has driven me away from the NFL and its starting to the college game. I'm just glad there are plenty of old games on You Tube I can watch and don't have to worry about games being stopped for replay to see if someone got hit too hard in the the wrong place, This is destroying the game. I think you can see it, too, in that many of the stadiums I saw yesterday that were far less than capacity filled.

                    Kentucky fan since 1971.

And let's not forget King. In a limited number of carries (6), he had 32 yards for a 5.3 yard avg.

This is what you get when you let women and pajama boys set public policy. It IS destroying the game, if they really wanted to improve player safety they would spend the money and use emerging technology to make better helmets. Nobody wants to spend the money to help solve the problem much easier to try to pass rules to try to control the uncontrollable. Darn shame, also striking was the announcers portrayal of the “targeters” , unnecessary,no place in the game for that hit, were just a few. Horse apples, football is a brutal violent COLLISION sport ALWAYS has been, anybody who ever played the game KNOWS this.

I'm surprised we didn't see more touches for Bowden and Conrad. Well, I'm not but I am. I think everyone expects first game jitters, especially from two QBs with zero experience. Why not give them some simple slants to hit their playmakers to get in a rhythm? For what Gran did with Kelcee he has seriously regressed with Conrad. There's no way he should have less than seven or eight targets a game.
