On a positive note, when Wilson stopped turning the ball over the defense played really well against the type of quarterback they will be unlikely to see again this season.Hard to gauge the pass rush as he rarely tried to go down the field in passing game, linebacking was as solid as I have seen it at UK since the Brooks era.

Wilson had 3 turnovers in game 1. I am done with him.

It's puzzling that Hoak didn't get any PT after Wilson came back in. As some have pointed out Wilson isn't a passer, he's a slinger, and SEC teams will eat him alive.

This may sound like a back-handed compliment but the best thing I can say is that I'm less disappointed than I've been in some other openers. This staff simply cannot get a team ready for the start of a season. But there were several positives. Total yards discrepancy was pretty good. It's unlikely we'll be -4 turnover margin every game regardless of who is at QB. Maybe it will be a good season if we clean it up a bit.

I agree completely. You can bet your back side Wilson will be starting next week too. Perhaps he deserves one more start to show he just had 1st game jitters. But I sure hope Stoops doesn't waste half the season on him if he doesn't improve significantly. At least give Hoak an opportunity each game if Wilson doesn't start to shine. Wilson has to make quicker reads and more accurate throws or he's useless.

Yes we have. But usually there's some improvement by week 2 or 3. Time will tell. I said before the game today the main thing I wanted was a cleaner game from a preparation standpoint. I didn't see it.

Good things, Daniels and Allen double digit tackles, run offense. Glad for the Win! We have many things to fix and won the game.

Hope we get ready for FLA or it will be an extremely long and disappointing day. Hoak needed more of a chance than he got. Wilson calmed down in the 2nd half but still looks out of place with the other 10 guys on the team. Worst of all is that if i were a hope TE in High School I would stay as far away from UK as I could. Conrad is wasting his talents on this team. Gran and Stoops must hate the guy.

Pay Randy Sanders whatever it takes to get him to come back and just coach the QB's. One of the best at developing QB's in college fb, in my opinion.

I agree Coach Sanders is a great QB Coach and developer, but Wilson's mechanics are so far off he might not have enough eligibility left. He threw much better when he was square with the receiver, but more often his shoulders were sideways.

Positives: run offense was great. Defense was solid...only one long drive all day and turned two tds into field goals.
a solid win that could have been an embarrassing loss
Punting was very good.
Negatives: head hunting by Westry. Unless there is a remarkable improvement in his mechanics in a week or two, Wilson is NOT the answer this team needs. Not putting Hoak back in. Pass blocking by the offensive line.
Do we have a field goal kicker....at all??? BUTTERFINGERS EVERYWHERE
