The Touchdown Terry era has begun.

I think we could see this coming, and I am hoping it will turn out well. Wilson certainly seems to have a very high upside. At the same time, I hope that Hoak keeps his head up and remains ready. I hope he realizes this is not the end of the line for him, and that he will continue to work hard.

Hoak must be terribly disappointed. Three years in the system, and he can't crack the starting lineup. And then there's Clark, who Ohio State was recruiting, relegated to third string. Go figure.

We all hope this is a good decision for the team. Also we understand how disappointed Hoak and Clark have to be. They are all competitors and believe they are ready. I hope they stay that way.

I wouldn't blame Hoak a bit if he bolted for an FCS school.

Reports in the spring were that Hoak was doing better so when Gunnar wasn't named starter you could pretty much see this coming.

Writing was on the wall, I suppose. Coaches always spoke of the two being neck and neck. If you got a new guy already even with someone in the system for years, the new guy is ahead
saw the lineup and noticed Westry is listed as behind Johnson. Anyone surprised?

I DO wonder if the final call was influenced by having to have a different left tackle to get a bit more mobile QB.

I'm not surprised, but I expect Hoak will play.

What do you base this on? Stephen Johnson was injured yet didn't get substituted for at least to my recollection. Reese Phillips got few opportunities. The only chance he got that I remember was a few in a pinch at Tennesse. And before that IIRC Whitlow got ALL the snaps in an Alabama State game.

Last year Johnson seemed to be the only option because Barker wasn't getting it done. This year Wilson and Hoak are both ready and able, so I expect both to play.

I hope you're right. Coach Stoops gives the impression that he is a one guy coach. Personally, I disagree....but I ain't getting paid to make that decision. I really think that if both quarterbacks have only a small separation between them....and those are kind of the reports we've been seeing....that it's essential to give playing time if game situation (i.e. blowout) allows.
there IS a solid school of thought that if a kid is playing rough, you let him work his way out...but that's for armchair QBs like me to scream about.

I can't recall how many times the second string QB stepped in and TORCHED Kentucky football, but I know it's been plenty.

If I recall, Georgia used to do well with a two QB rotation. One was more runner, one more passer.

If memory serves me correctly, UK seems to have the mindset of only playing one QB no matter who the coach is or has been.

                        Can Hoak play multi positions?

This may be in Gunners best interest. Wilson starts against CMU, shows well, starts against UF. Will the Gators try to take Wilson out like they did Barker?
Gunner better stay ready because the Gators will be ready for us.

I've always thought UK's offense seemed to be designed for a quarterback who can run.

                              I don't think so.
