Add Javonte Richardson to UK's List of Transfers

    Competition exposes insecurity.
Another player is leaving the Kentucky football team, this time a highly-touted wide receiver.

Looks like the recruiting day in February is growing a bit each announcement.
sounds like full class plus maybe a couple extra (if that will be possible).

I figured the addition of Terry Touchdown that we wouldn't see any WRs leave. We don't know why these youngsters make the decisions that they do. I just hope he doesn't go somewhere and blow up.

The addition of Wilson may have caused him to think we're going to be more of a running team than a passing one. Good receivers want to catch passes, not spend their time blocking for RB's and a running QB.

One of the top-ranked players in Kentucky’s 2017 recruiting class is leaving UK.  Wide receiver Javonte Richardson is leaving Kentucky to join the junior college ranks. Richardson is the fourth transfer of the week, joining Drew Barker, JaQuize Cross and fellow freshman Bryant Koback.  It was first reported by Justin Rowland and has been confirmed […]

I suspect he's having grade issues. Why would he leave UK for a JUCO???

Another reason could be if he's wanting out he can spend next season playing instead of sitting out.

Uncle Dave, my thoughts exactly. Nobody wants to ride buses and play in front of 1200 people if they do not have to.

I'm not so sure about that. Wilson is a pretty good passer from what I have read.

I read that as well. I still feel that, if Wilson is the starter, we'll see a run heavy off. rather than a pass heavy one.

                    Depth.

                    What depth?

                    We'll never build any.

No matter who the QB is we're running the football. We'll use the pass to set up the play action. We have one of the best players in the SEC. Benny needs to get the ball 20+ times a game.

Which is exactly why we need to be able to pass. Can’t win in the SEC with a one-dimensional offense. Benny’s good, but not good enough to take on entire defenses by himself.

Where did I say we need to be one dimensional?

I didn’t say you did. You emphasized the run, though, and it won’t be a big secret that Snell is the man on next year’s team. If we know that, other teams will, too.

Run heavy ... pass heavy ... What about a balanced offense? I think that is the goal. Most seem to have crowned Wilson as the starter. I really think he's exciting but I'm not ready to give anyone the reins until after Spring. The coaches are going to look for consistency. If you want to play on Sundays you better be able to block, and that includes WRs. Mariotta threw a block on a linebacker ... just enough to let Henry get the first down and ice the game. He earned the respect of the OL as a result. You won't see the field if you can't block. This is true for running backs as well.
