UL's meltdown began last year with Houston. They've sucked ever since. Today they got beat, at home, by BC for their first ACC win. LOL!!!! Petrino's absolute toxicity as a coach and human being is clearly catching up with him to the surprise of no one. So he bails from UL...........to where???? Even Jurich can't bail him out this time.

Petrino is being true to his history, where he takes over a program, wins like gang busters, and then tales off after his recruits start coming in.

It will be interesting to see if UT keeps its head coach through the entire season, or fires him after they lose to Kentucky.

How ironic that would be. I can't count the times, since I began following the Cats in 1954, that the fan base felt if we beat UT it would get the UK coach another year. The difference is I think the Vol fans look more at the big picture than at just beating us. Depending on what else happens, over the remainder of the season, I doubt if beating us alone would save Butch's job.

In all honesty, I think most reasonable fans would allow Butch 7-5, MAYBE a 6-6 season. Rebuilding year PLUS some awfully bad season ending injuries.
Butch Jones's mouth may have cost him that with his comments before the Georgia disaster.

someone said it would be something like 14 million to buy out Jones.....and I believe the athletic department is still buying out the last AD as well as MAYBE Dooley. Throw in that 4 million or higher to go after Petrino, and UT is in a pinch right now..

The projected playoffs got really thrown off over the weekend. With Clemson, and both Washington's losing that may open up the playoffs to two SEC teams if UGA and Alabama keep winning.
