LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky linebacker Jordan Jones won’t play against Florida on Saturday, coach Mark Stoops said after practice Thursday.
Jones’ availability for the game never seemed likely. Stoops had said last week and earlier this week that it would be a “stretch†for the junior linebacker to play. It’s the second consecutive game Jones will miss. Sophomore Eli Brown filled the “Will†linebacker spot last weekend against South Carolina.
Jones suffered a shoulder injury against Eastern Kentucky in Week 2 and is week to week. He led Kentucky with 109 tackles last season — third most in the SEC.
