Kentucky vs Southern Miss Game Thread.

We won the game ,on the road, always a plus at U.K. Anyone who watched this years and last years game will readily acknowledge that Southern Miss is not near as talented as last year. We played horribly on Offense. Benny looked slow me tenative. We have no viable backup that I can see. Johnson made some good throws and some bad ones.Apart from Conrad I didn't see ANDOBY from the receiver corps step up. Defense was very good on the line but shaky at corner. Westry either has to improve or sit. I must say that U.K. appears to be WORSE of at the skill positions than they were last year. Other than the win (against a team that might win 4 games) I saw very little that excites me about the future.

D Line seemed markedly improved. Benny did look slow. We have viable backups to Benny. I am hoping this staff isn't going the John Fox route and just automatically giving it to the "experienced" player. No WR stepped up because they never had a shot to. Was it game 1 jitters? Could be, but there is a tad bit of concern, IMO. Let this staff iron it all out. They deserve it. If we are to continue to run the Wildcat, I want to see some passes out of it. Maybe we will see Bowden next game? If not, then we need to scrap that formation. The defense can read that in yesterday's paper and it just SCREAMS offensive ineptitude.

Defense saved the day for UK. Not been able to say that many times over the last decade. Offense is going to miss that tandem of Boom going with Snell. UK doesn't have the quick back to offset the power of Snell. Snell may take a beating this year. Also UK appears to have no receivers to speak of except for Conrad. They have to target him 8 to 10 times a game. He too good to keep wasting. In the end it was win which is all that matters. Have to find a way to come up with 5 more of these to have post season play.
