Kentucky Report Card: Spring game grades for the Wildcats

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The final score doesn’t matter and it’s hard to know what to make of Kentucky football’s spring game Friday night under the lights at Commonwealth Stadium.
The rosters were mixed and matched and some players even switched sides halfway through the scrimmage. We don’t even know actual attendance, only that there were 37,172 tickets distributed and nowhere near that many actually showed up.
Here is what do know from Friday’s action: the offense has plenty of playmakers, the defense still has significant questions to answer and the kicking game needs work.

sums it up. I watched mainly to see if there were any capable back ups for defensive front seven. I'm not as concerned about the depth there now. I was really impressed with Boogie Watson

Same ol Elam. IMO Pringle is the man in the middle. I think his increased playing time last year was a big part in the improvement of the defense as last season progressed.

Wow, Elam is turning into a huge bust. He obviously had something if Bama wanted him. I bet they are glad we got him.

Not trying to make our coaches look bad, but IMO had Elam went to Bama, he would either be in shape to play or he would be home looking for a scholarship.

So far. Let's hope he will commit to doing whatever is necessary for him to contribute. It sure doesn't look promising.

                      #1 he has contributed.
                      #2 he can contribute more.
#3 he is a very young man, despite his size.

I don't put much stock in statements from the guy who automatically labels Hoak supporters as racists.

We are racists for saying Elam has not contributed.

Elam, to me, always had the look of someone who would just never have any quickness about him at all. I'm afraid he has proven me correct about this. I doubt that he would have ever been able to be a good high level college football player anywhere, not to mention the SEC.

That talk should stay on the Politics forum - that's why I put it there! That's not what I said either. A therefore B is not the same as B therefore A and that kind of logic gets us closer to nuclear wars and scandals worse than Teapot Dome with Trump as President.

In fairness to John, I agree.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.
