Cousins played very well. But man, he's hard to watch. Borderline dirty player. He is the prototypical Bill Lambier type. Every dead ball ends up in a shoving match.

But a tremendous offensive player. So skilled.

He's a throwback to the era of the NBA in which every team had an enforcer. Basically someone to do all the teams fighting. He would have been very good at that. I was thinking last night I wouldn't want to mess with him or D'Andre Jordan. That's two mean looking dudes if there ever was any.

An exciting medal sweep by the Americans in the Ladies Hurdles. First time in Olympic history.

The Ryan Lochte thing is odd.

I thought when I first heard about it that it was dubious. Lochte's a weirdo.

I really hadn't read much about this until this morning. If true, probably is, they are in a lot of trouble. Those Brazilian jails could be mighty hot this time of year.

Ryan Lochte made up the story that he and three other US Olympic swimmers were robbed at gunpoint, so they could cover up an altercation with a gas station security guard after busting down a bathr…

Idiots. Youthful indiscretion is one thing, but Lotche is 31 years old. Further, the story he fabricated where he's the "rebel" of the three when the "robber" demanded they get on the ground (he refused), makes him look even more of a buffoon.

I'll admit if it was a fabrication, which appears to be true, they should have to be punished in some way. OTOH, it seems, to me, the Brazilian police are making too big of a deal out of it. Confiscating passports and taking people off airplanes. It's not like they attempted to assassinate the Brazilian Pres.

I agree Matt. If Lotche was the leader in this fabrication, he should be sent back to Brazil and face the music.

I felt the same way at first, but then I thought, if this happened here with foreign nationals impugning the integrity of our police (they did claim that individuals dressed as police officers robbed them at gun-point) while here for the Olympics, I'd be mad. Rio has (rightfully so) endured a lot of criticism for being less than prepared for the Olympics. I don't blame them for wanting to clear all the bases in this case.

I agree. Rio's been dogged for months about how bad this Olympics was going to be and what a hellhole that city is.

I think they see this as a way toward a little--at least symbolic--redemption.

Based on my very small sample size of elite or at least Div 1 swimmers, Lochte is the quintessential swimmer. The douche bag coefficient in that sport is off the charts. I'm not sure I would let my son join a team if he begged me.

I root for all American's competing in Rio but I have a tough time rooting for the swim team.
