    Golden State

    Is really fun to watch.

A former UK coach who failed in the NBA twice must be green with envy that they have managed to win playoff games playing fast and bombing threes.

The NBA is SO much better these days than it was when I was a kid. It is no longer a walk the ball up the court, half court set, rugby scrum of a game.

    The playoffs have been incredible.

OKC probably should've won that series. Without Klay Thompson going ape in Game 6 they would've. Kevin Durant also didn't help matters much. Not sure what he was doing in the first half of that game. OKC should've had a 15-point lead, but for some reason he was jacking up terrible shot after terrible shot.

This is going to be a great Finals. I kind of think Cleveland may win.

I was pulling for the Thunder because of Nazr Mohammed and Enes Kanter

And the Raptors for Patrick Patterson

Golden State couldn't run it out, a la Kentucky last season.

Cleveland was just a little tougher, and they have the best player on the planet.

I obviously wouldn't care if the NBA went away tomorrow as long as I could watch college basketball. But for the folks who don't watch the NBA, you should really put aside that belief during the playoffs. Because the playoffs are extraordinary beyond all imagination. These guys are so incredibly good that it's unbelievable. Kyrie Irving did some things in that game last night that I've never seen before.

GS went what 0 for 6 in the final 4 minutes? Can't win that way.

Very sorry that LaBron wins another one, he owes silver a big thank you for saving the series in game 5.

It was like watching KY2015 all over again...

I hardly watch the NBA anymore. But I did watch this game 7 of the finals. It was everything you would want to see in a game 7. It was down to the wire and the stars played a major role in the end. I thought LeBron's block was huge. They were at the point in the game where it looked like the next team that scored would win. LeBron came out of nowhere to block that layup attempt. Just a great play. I also never thought Draymond Green would be the star he has become. I thought he would be a journeyman player that had a nice career but nothing special. I was glad the City of Cleveland finally got their championship. It was a long time coming and they went through a lot of disaapointments with the Browns and Indians.

Cleveland's Mayor Jackson lifted the pollution ban on Lake Erie a few weeks ago in anticipation of a Cleveland championship so the lake could be set afire again................

That block was the play of the series IMO. It was amazing and one of the great defensive game saving plays I have ever seen. It isn't Bron's basketball gifts that I don't like...

There has been much discussion this week that this win moves him into a top 5 all time NBA discussion. I would go further and say physically speaking he is the best, however between the ears, were I starting a team today, I would take just about everyone else in Bill Simmons top 10 over him.

Ok, I wouldn't take Kobe or Shaq over LaBron; but Jordan, Magic, Kareem, Olajuwon, Duncan, and probably Bird, and West, I would.

I think LeBron has put the "between the ears" thing to rest. Guy just won his third title. He's been a fixture in the Finals for nearly the past decade.

He's the best I've ever seen play the game. At his size and with his skillset he's a force of nature. People talk about his passing as if that makes him soft. The thing is, he's one of the best passers to ever play the sport. This is a guy who can stand on the opposite block, back a guy in, and then with his off-hand throw a 50-foot diagonal pass right into a shooter's hands without that shooter having to move an inch.

All that said, Cleveland doesn't win that game without Love's rebounding the first quarter and Irving's play in the third.

His conduct over the last two seasons cements the between the ears thing for his career. I am not just talking about his disappearing acts in big games.

As for this championship Tristan Thompson and Irving featured PROMINENTLY in the win so...

I don't know much about him. Don't follow Cleveland. I watch the NBA pretty much only during the playoffs. But I'm not sure what "conduct" you're speaking of.

                        The Decision?

Absolutely. I love the way Thompson plays. Perfect role player and those guys are extremely important. In college too. Need a guy who will do dirty work. That's obviously one of the things Kentucky was severely lacking last year.

But James led both teams in rebounding, blocks, steals, points, and assists in the Finals. That's insane.

Dr J has to be mentioned in there somewhere.

I saw the block and it was a tremendous play. I would like to see it again to see if the ball hit the backboard before he touched it, which would make it goaltenting. It was close.

Also Wilt and Russell. Although Russell didn't have the stats but had the intagibles of winning.

The list I was referencing has Russell 2nd all time (LBJ isn't in the top 20 due to when the list was compiled) He has Wilt 6th and Erving 16th.

So.. I intentionally didn't mention Russell or Wilt in my example. I never saw Russell play. He was surrounded by hall of fame talent. He was also the beneficiary of his era and is undersized for his position in today's game. I wouldn't start my franchise in the modern NBA with him. With Wilt, I am well aware of how amazing he is and in my view he is the only rival to LaBron in terms of being an athletic freak. I have questions about his mental game and therefore didn't include him in my example.

For the record, based on tape and stats, I think Hakeem would eat their lunch but then Simmons has him at 11, I have him at 2 or 3.

Edit to add: Ok in today's NBA Russell isn't undersized what with small ball being in voge; but still...
