Was that the show with that Motown song during the opening credits? The Supremes, I think? About Vietnam?Comment

I watched China Beach (primarily for the lead actress)
I also loved The Wonder Years and Tour of Duty.
I was roughly the same age as the kids on the Wonder Years and really connected with that show. I was also a patriotic little guy and chafed at what I perceived to be the mistreatment of our Vietnam War veterans.Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... Loved China Beach. Dana Delaney...........yowza.Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

Wife is a big Columbo fan, so I've been rewatching all the episodes on Netflix dating back to `71.
Also enjoy the British comedies. Our favorite is "Keeping Up Appearances". We bought the dvd set a few years ago and now it's on Netflix as well. Ran from 1990 to 1995.

I loved The Wonder Years.
There was a show on, 5-10 years ago, called American Dreams, about a family in Philadelphia during the 1960s. I really enjoyed that show, but it was cancelled.Comment

A lot of shows I like get canceled. Anyone remember "Harry's Law"? Kathy Bates was Harry. Loved it. Not sure it lasted more than 1 season. Maybe 2. She was on The Today Show recently. She said it got canceled because the main audience was too old. What the @#$%???? She was great in the lead.Comment

My wife needs to be participating in this thread. She's the tv buff in the family. I find this thread somewhat amusing in that I virtually quit watching tv in the mid-70's, except for sporting events. Therefore, most of the shows you all are discussing I've never seen, and some I've never heard of. It's the generation gap.Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment

My wife loves Columbo too. We record them off MeTV and Hallmark Mystery channel. We have a watched a few together and we will probably be watching a few of these while she is recuperating. We have the very first one and last one on DVR right now as well as many others.
Keeping up Appearances is one of the funniest British sitcoms.I think we are like those two,Richard and Hyacinth, just not that quite over the top. I also like the one that is set in department store. Can't think of the name of it now but it is really funny.Kentucky fan since 1971.Comment

I forgot The Office. I thought it was pretty funny at the time. Still do, I guess, but it's been a long time since I watched it.Comment

Another enjoyable one is "Last of the Summer Wine". Revolves around the lives of 3 or 4 retired men, Tremendously successful in Britain. Ran for over 30 years.Last edited by surveyor; 04-26-2016, 08:42 AM.Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought.
