    INVENTIONS

Just for fun: What are some inventions we use/have and maybe take for granted, that our parents or grandparents didn’t have? I know we have a variety of ages on here.

For me, nonstick pans and microwave are a couple.

I'd like to thank the inventor of the HVAC system. I'm going Great Grandparents level. Once that thing goes out, summer or winter, nobody's having a nice day.

At least three right off the top of my head. Cell phones, microwave ovens and computers. When I was growing up, we didn't have a tv until 1957 or 1958.

We had a TV when I was 4, 1955. I won a Tiny Tears doll from “Uncle Ed”. Can’t remember the name of the show, but I can still see him on the little screen in a big box type chest. Maybe Magic Forest?

I think the show was 'Funny Flickers'. Uncle Ed (Kallay) held court from the 'Secret Tree' in the 'Magic Forest'.

I believe the person who invented HVAC was Margaret Ingles. From Paris Ky.

I had a Tiny Tears doll, but I didn’t win it. Mine came from JJ Newberrys. At least, that’s where I picked it out. Officially, from Santa.

Both of my grandmothers thought indoor plumbing was amazing.
