I know someone who has had COVID. Has quarantined the required days and tested negative today. Would you meet them for dinner tomorrow?

I'm not sure. I'd probably have to be faced with the situation to know for sure. It might depend on who it was.Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment

I was a little out of joint when a friend of mine canceled on an event we were going to Tuesday. That would be 5 days from my negative test. I got over it. I followed the CDC protocol because I don’t wish COVID on anyone.Comment

I had it 3 times. 1st time was bad, very tired No energy and weak. The last 2 times were not even worse that a cold. My wife had it twice but we never contracted it from each other.
we both had two covid vacs.
im in my 80s and was never in serious condition.
People were dying from other causes and the idiots in.power were blaming covid.
the covid shots were a joke

I know what you meant by that comment. But, not to me and, especially, my wife. She had COVID once in Feb '22 and I had it in Jan '22 and Oct '22. Neither one of us had severe symptoms - tiredness for a day or two, cough for a few days, etc. Both of us had the 2 Pfizer initial shots (of course, we caught COVID after we'd had the shots - so much for 'vaccine'). Anyway, my wife exhibited long COVID symptoms starting in May '22 - extreme exhaustion/lack of energy being the main symptom. Her doctor tried but could do nothing to alleviate the symptoms. It was so bad that she went on ST disability, could not walk to the mailbox and back, etc. However by November, she was feeling good enough to want to fly to see her dad who she hadn't seen in almost 3 years. He's in his mid-80s, has had heart bypass surgery, among other normal aging ailments. He did not get vaccinated and did/does not really pay much attention to his health and wearing a mask, etc. So, my wife got a booster shot (Pfizer again, IIRC). She visited with her dad and came home after a week. She experienced a severe relapse in her long COVID symptoms and has, to this day, still not fully recovered to her level in Nov '22. A doctor who was attempting to treat her long COVID symptoms said that he suspected the booster was the cause of the relapse and subsequent severe symptoms from which she still is affected every single day.
I will not get on a political soapbox, but I believe:
1. the vaccines were a huge windfall for a few companies and many people in Washington who are supposed to be 'serving' their constituents not sacrificing them for money and political power
2. there were/are other drugs readily available that act as an effective therapeutic to significantly reduce the chance of dying from COVID; several have proven to be much better than the vaccines at mitigating that risk
3. there was an enormous amount of CYA going on in Washington, the media, etc. when it became apparent that the vaccines did not do what we were told they would do, i.e., prevent an individual from catching or spreading COVID
4. when a pharmaceutical company requires immunity from liability on a drug they've developed before they'll agree to dispense it to the public, that tells me all I need to know
As you might guess, I'm still extremely sensitive about the whole COVID vaccine fiasco. I may never have my wife fully back as her life (and mine) has been, most likely, irreparably damaged. I hold deep resentments for the 'leaders' (I won't name them) who sold us the lies and exaggerations and then continued to do so in order to fill their bank account and/or for political gain. I will never forgive any of them.Comment

I've gotten virtually every vaccination known to man for years and plan on continuing to do so for as long as I live. I look at it this way, if they don't work, I haven't lost anything. At my age (81) I feel that I should take all the precautions I can.Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment
