Director Rob Reiner and wife, Michele, found dead in their Los Angeles home

Director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, were found dead Sunday in their Los Angeles home, sources told CBS News, in what police called an apparent homicide.

Rob Reiner was 78 and Michele Singer Reiner was 68.

"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time," their family said in a statement obtained by Variety.

Nick has a long history of problems. Both Rob and Michele stabbed to death.

Hated his politics but very sad about this incident. Was a fine director of several excellent movies.

Apparently, Nick was a ticking time bomb. I read that his early childhood wasn't a happy one. He stated that he felt as if Rob favored an older brother. TMZ is reporting that Rob and Nick had a verbal altercation at a party the night before the murders.

I will give him some credit. I saw a clip of a Piers Morgan interview after Charlie Kirk's murder and Reiner was adamant about how tragic this incident was and how he was moved by Erica's eulogy. Unlike many of his political cohorts, Reiner did NOT celebrate the senseless murder and I believe he was truly appalled that it happened. He definitely had his TDS moments but I don't believe ever lost his basic humanity. His murder is also a horrible tragedy. I don't know how we turn this society around but there is so much senseless violence on a daily basis it is easy to become numb to it.

My wife and I were discussing this very thing this morning. Unless someone has a personal interest in a shooting, I believe some people barley take notice any longer.
