    RIP - Steve Cropper

Great, great underrated guitarist - wrote 'Soul Man', 'Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay', played on a ton of Stax hits, Booker T and the MGs, Blues Brothers, etc. To my ear, never played an unnecessary note. Extremely understated style but just always 'right'. He was 84.

Steve and his good friend Donald "Duck" Dunn made quiet a guitar duo.

^As you probably know, Duck Dunn was the bass player. That band, along with the Funk Brothers at Motown, were an integral part of a TON of absolutely outstanding songs. The 60s would not have been the 60s without Motown and soul music. Just MHO.
