I don’t think so, not anymore. I seem to remember Rick posting about that sometime back. It may not be a permanent situation, iirc. I don’t know for sure, one way or the other.

I'd like to have a political forum, also. But, way too many times I've witnessed really serious verbal abuse, name calling, thinly veiled threats, offensive labeling, etc. The entire political atmosphere in the US is poisoned, imo. A whole lot of people view politics like hardcore zealots regard religion: convert to what I believe or you're dead to me and doomed and I want nothing to do with you. A 'reasoned' discussion about ideas with both sides keeping their cool and at least listening and appreciating other viewpoints even if they completely disagree is like finding a unicorn or Bigfoot.

It's a shame, too, because I like discussing ideas and concepts and who did/said what and what it might mean to the US. But, anymore, you can't say anything or carry a sign or put a political message in your yard without some borderline psycho wanting to fight about it. There seems to be a lot of psychological problems walking around our country nowadays and you never know what will set one of these lunatics off. Zealotry does not contain itself to one political party or philosophy, imo. There are bad characters on every side and every issue. It's just not worth it in the long run to get into it on the internet, I imagine.
