    Phone Type

    What type are you?

    1. Always on. Always on it. Sleep with it next to you.Phone vibrates, sneezes, makes noises, pip, bings, blings or rings, you jump to like it's your Jedi Master calling.

    2. Phone always on silent and you answer it if you feel like it but just ignore it much of the time.

There seem to be two types.

Those who see it as a tool and those who see it as life itself.

I use my phone for work. Therefore, I’m somewhere in the middle. I dispatch the calls, so I have to answer. Always glad when “spam risk” shows up...I don’t answer those. I’d like to ignore the phone, but that’s not going to happen if we want the work.

My phone goes on mute in the morning when I go to bed. Most times I forget and it's muted most of the day.

I've always said I wish there was an EMP, solar flare, or something that would zap only cell phones. I'd like to see people squirm without their pacifier. Then they'd actually have to speak and look you in the eye when walking towards you.

Actually, there's a third type. The only time my ph. is on is when I'm away from home in case my wife needs to get in touch with me or vice versa. Any calls I get from businesses, friends etc. come to my home ph.

Me too. Just got rid of our house phone. Had a 101 year old aunt (died in the spring at 102) that wouldn’t call on cell. Mine is on all the time. Have immediate family in different time zones. I silence it at night because I have a friend that thinks nothing of sending a text well after midnight. I silence it in Church and other places like MD offices. Volume and is low. My Fitbit tells me when I have a call and messages.

Mine stays on. May not be life or death but with a type 1 diabetic son it sure helps. I can follow his glucose levels all day and get alerts when he’s too high or too low.

Which type are you, Blueheretic? You didn’t say

Mine is always on, but I have it on silent and only get text messages - no other notifications from other platforms. And I don't have that many people that text me. At night, it's on the dresser across the room so I can't pick it up without getting out of bed to go get it.

There are some times that I have it in my hand awhile at home when I'm reading a book on it.

The type of my phone is "butthole." I tend to keep a cork in it most of the time.

I'm more or less #2 unless I'm out somewhere waiting on something and am bored.

I'll send out 15 text messages in 14 seconds and then ignore it for a day and a half. lol

Mine is always on and usually beside me. I work from home and keep it in a drawer while I am working to limit distractions.

I haven't had a landline since 2007, so if you want to reach me by phone, this is the one. Whether I want to answer is a different story.

I haven't had a telephone (land line) since 2003 when I went off to Afghanistan to find the love of my life in Thailand.

I may have been the last American to get a cell phone. Several years ago my wife told me she needed a new one. She came home with 2. But I admit it’s been fairly addictive since. And, as I said before, really helpful with my boy’s condition.

I think I got my first cell phone in Germany in 1998.
