Robert Redford, magnetic Hollywood icon and Sundance founder, dies at 89

Robert Redford, the actor and director who sailed to Hollywood stardom with turns in classics such as “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” and “All the President’s Men” and invigorated American independent cinema as the founder of the organization behind the Sundance Film Festival, died Tuesday morning.

    He was 89.

Jeremiah Johnson. One of my favorite movies of all time. Redford was a good actor and director. A River Runs Through It was a great one that he directed.

"Think you used enough dynamite, Butch?". One of many great lines in 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid'. RR had a lot of really fine movies. One he directed, 'A River Runs Through It', is a GREAT movie, imo. Just a wonderful film. He directed several others that were/are also excellent.

Ordinary People...what a beautiful devastating movie.
            Jeremiah Johnson.
I went out west this year and took the train from Durango to Silverton..
Went over the bridge Butch and Sundance jumped from.

To be honest Im shocked he passed...im dumbfounded he was 89.
