What time do you get up and why? I am usually up before 7. I like daylight. I watch The Today Show to see what’s going on in this messed up world. If I don’t sleep well, I might get up after 7. I seldom see 11 PM. Before I retired, it was 5:20 AM.

I'm an ole country boy I grew up to the early to bed and early to rise mantra and I guess it just stuck. I've been retired for over 25 years and I still get up between 4:00 and 4:30 every morning seven days a week. I begin my day with a bowl of cereal and a mug of coffee and sitting in front of my computer. I read the news to see what has happened overnight, check my emails, look in on "X", read my favorite comic strips and visit WCN. Oh, and by the way, I'm usually in bed by 7:00 P.M. every night.Last edited by Matt Dillon; 4 weeks ago.Philippians 4:11-4:13 -

I hit the sack between 11:30 pm and 12:15 am most nights. Generally awake right at 6-6.5 hours later, so 5:45 am - 6:30 am. Haven't needed an alarm clock for years as I get about the same amount of sleep every night. Takes me about 60 seconds to fall asleep, which drives my wife batty as she needs at least 45 minutes to get to sleep most nights.Comment

I'm a night worker, so I usually go to sleep between 6-7 am and I'll get up around 1:30ish. Got the whole day to do whatever needs to be done. My biggest complaint about working nights is that there are no more 24 walmarts or meijers.Comment

Same time as Matthew. You'd think it would be quiet, but it's not. I live in the George Rogers Clark Park area of Louisville. What with the UPS jets taking off, trains, and an assortment of sirens. There's lots of times I wished I lived out in the country again, but that's not happening. I do all kinds of stuff until the sun comes up, then I jet off to my garden and scratch around a while. I'm never bored. I go to bed around 7 or 7:30. Save your money. Retire. You'll love it..👍 2Comment

I work 4x10s Mon-Thurs, so usually up by 5:40 AM to walk the dog and get out the door early. Fridays are my outdoor days (hiking or skiing) and usually up between 5-6 AM. Weekends I don't set an alarm and am usually up by 6, 8 AM is sleeping in for me now. Which is funny, because when I was younger I'd be up all night and sleeping well into the day.Comment
