    The country has lost it

A man killed while showing he was about free speech and Katy Tur on msnbc calls him an instigator. A girl stabbed to death and a BLM writer states black men have a right to violence. Mayor's saying they have no crime in their cities while kids are killed every weekend.
    insanity.

The country is politically divided beyond repair. There is a movement afoot that may very well tear this country apart.

I wish I were smart enough and savvy enough to unite the country. I’d give up eyecare in a heartbeat if I could heal the wounds of the political divide. It’s not a divide, it’s a chasm. I still believe enough of us could see past our differences to coexist if the extremists were not in charge of media and government. They deepen the chasm every day. And lead to events like we saw today. Man was 31 with a wife and 2 kids.

Sean—I’m no longer able to post a sad emoji. It changes to a question mark.

I agree. Charlie kirk was a good man, I listened to him every day. So much senseless killing. Another school shooting in Colorado today.

For years, radical voices in the media and on social media have twisted themselves into pretzels justifying violence against individuals and groups they disagreed with (or hated). It's heartbreaking to hear anyone regardless of political leanings, race, creed, religion, sexual identity applaud murdering school children or a 31-year old father engaging in political discourse. A significant percentage of 20-somethings fervently believe that socialism/communism is the only answer to all of America's problems. They have been systematically turned against the very system that allows them to voice dissent against the government (which would be instantly punished severely in a communist country) and to have the means to attend universities and elite colleges. It really is insanity.

Some idiot on MSNBC basically said 'one could say' that Kirk brought this on himself with his 'hateful speech'. While the network and individual issued a, imo, lame, rote apology, how is cold blooded murder EVER justifiable? Yet, in some minds, if it's for The Greater Good (as they define it, of course), then anything and everything is justifiable. You won't have to wait long to see comments on social media that will unsubtly applaud this murder.

Maybe it is time to divide the country and let those on Left live and govern how they see fit and those on the Right do the same. I don't see a pathway to bring the two sides together even enough to be able to work together.

Much of the media these days is to blame. And I'm talking media on both sides of the political fence.

They report in such a way as to cause more divide and stir up fear and emotion. They do that for ratings and money. That is their motivation.

A large chunk of reasonable people in their audiences can handle that without taking it to extremes. A very small portion can't and that's what leads to tragedy.

And that's why I devote zero of my time and attention to political news whatsoever. And this probably belongs on the political board which I'll never join.

Words and opinions have become weapons, sadly. People take things too personally anymore. We're almost at a tipping point. Lord, have mercy on us.

To no one's surprise, the FBI has found the weapon used to assassinate Kirk and unused bullets. Reportedly, the bullets had 'transgender and anti-fascist' ideology inscribed on them. I didn't want to jump to any conclusions, but, at least for now, it appears that one more Leftist loony has committed grievous harm to a conservative. Certainly not all incidents are Left on Right, but there sure seems to be a large majority that are. Already we've seen reports of Dem members of Congress blaming Trump, 'inciteful rhetoric', even J6-ers for the horrific incident yesterday. When prominent political leaders and the MSM constantly bombard the airwaves with labels such as 'Hitler', 'Nazi', 'hater', etc. and calls for 'fighting in the streets', 'confront them in restaurants', etc. - why do we act surprised when mentally unstable individuals act on these encouragements? Or, a sitting state governor and failed VP candidate talking about how disappointed he was that "good news", i.e. Trump's death, didn't happen. But, there will be 'good news' sometime in the future.

I know and respect many people who voted Democrat in the last presidential election. I know, at heart, they're good people. I don't understand how they can willfully ignore their party's complicity in these violent acts.

I see the good and bad in both. Try being less divisive.

You need to worry about your own party. Lots of and LOTS of issues there. I mean, look at who you voted in, and what he stood for.

I am angry. Yesterday, it was a bright flame. Today, it is a sizzling ember.

I do not know if this feeling will go away.

Discussion about this on here would be impossible.

I'm pretty sure the admins will pull this or close it.
