The Greatest Rock 'N Roll Band in the world played their first gig. The Rolling Stones. Although it was 6 months later to the day that Charlie Watts joined and the original lineup was set.

They've been my favorite band for a long, long time. Certainly on the Mt Rushmore of Rock, imo. Arguably, their peak ('68 - '73) was unrqualed for studio albums produced and quality of their live shows. Once Mick Taylor left, they were a different band. Still great, but below their previous peak.

“Far Away Eyes” has always been one of my favorites of their lesser known songs.

“Honkey Tonk Women”, “Gimme Shelter”, and “Tumbling Dice” are probably my favorites. Hard to choose!
