I know Lexington, Tn well. Definitely not a bad town although surrounding areas aren't great and absolutely nothing to do. Superbowl hot.

Okolona KY, suburb of Louisville. The name comes from a giant oak tree that stood in a field by the only 4 way stop sign. It sat there all alone.. Ok-a-lone-a.

I was told that story by my second grade teacher Miss Stigner but i think it was folklore. (at the time i was leary of her b/c she was German) There was another town called Lone Oak of

which Okolona was originally named. when they couldn't keep that name they just reversed it.. Oka-lona.

I live in Borden Indiana now.

Seriously !! i lived in Okolona when I married 43 years ago. Married a Indiana gal and we moved to Sellersburg. We were there for 20 years. Then moved to Henryville for 10 years, We were there when the tornado hit in 2012. Then moved to Borden. Your probably less than 10 miles from me. I still have a business in Sellersburg that we started 40 years ago. We lived off of Hwy 403 just across from the Speeds Golf course.

Unreal how many Cats fans are on this side of the river.

You ever play golf at Covered Bridge, Champions Pointe or Hidden Creek? Three great courses right there in Sellersburg.

I haven't played at Covered Bridge or Champions in two or three years, because they keep jacking the rates, and I can't justify it.

I play Hidden Creek twice a week.

Same with Covered and Champions. I haven't played at either for 2 years. i called them earlier this year and they wanted 75 a round. They're still nice courses but the prices have steadily risen since Fuzzy sold them. I have a brother that live in Lanesville, we play old Capital in Corydon once a week, its a uneak course with a lot of challenging holes. It work the trip up there. I use to play Hidden Creek as well, Turning point once in awhile with my wife. I'm really not that fond of the course though. We should get together and shoot a round sometime.

I'm always down! We can probably figure something out.

I like Old Capital a lot -- a challenging course for the price point. Definitely a hidden gem. Usually if I'm out that way, I'll play Chariots Run first and then make my way over to Old Capital via the backroads.

I was an Okolona boy. Grew up right on the Okolona/Fairdale line pretty much right off South Park Road and Minors Lane. Okolona is crap now. It reminds me of a lot of the South Louisville areas. At one time they were nice and clean and a good place to raise a family. Once a lot of the old folks moved or passed on, it seems a different element moved in.

I agree, Im almost shocked when i visit Okolona. but, man, it was a great place to grow up, I had a GREAT childhood there. I have no family there now, they are all in MT Washington or Southern Indiana.

Chariot Run is Awesome. They have a fun 3 par hole on the back nine, it think is #12. Me and my nephew were playing on a slow day, not many people we on the course. We played that hole about 6 times before we finally moved on. There was referey that drove out to check what was going on. (The carts are monitored and they can see when they aren't moving) He got out there after about 4 times playing it. We admitted what we were doing, he just laughed, said enjoy, and took off. I don't mind the drive because the course is so nice, but isn't it over 75 buck now too?
